    Looking at your computer? cancer.

Also typing can give you cancer. Breathing might too.

Really depends on your source of information ...

Now for starters I DO NOT actually agree with this statement necessarily. But has anybody noticed that almost anything we put in our mouths/bodies seems to cause cancer in some way? Mio, Dairy products, preservatives, non-organic product, meat, etc.!?!?

If we use a sugar substitute = cancer
    Sugar = cancer
Go in the sun = cancer
    Some sunscreens = cancer
Drink water from plastic containers = cancer

Get my drift!?! If we gave up anything and everything that in some round about way could cause cancer what would we have left!?!? I honestly don't think I could read anything on MFP without someone telling me something I put in my body is going to cause cancer....I mean I'm glad there is information out there warning us about these things but it seems like if I breathe I am going to get cancer.

OK I'm off my soap box now I was just curious if anyone else seems to notice this.
Bollocks is what I say to that, they tell you to drink red wine, its good for you, then dont, they tell you to eat tomatoes then dont, it causes cancer, bull****, they have no idea what so ever how anyting affects anyone, how could they, who eats only tomatoes etc.

Pretty soon we'll find out that organic food causes cancer too so I don't believe we can win! Water will cause cancer, etc. etc.

It's funny I made a similar statement a year ago or so... and my thread was locked and now nobody will talk to me. Good Luck, and ...

yes I'll agree it seems like with all of the processing our food goes through, and the competition to make it cheaper quality is lost and it's got so many things that aren't really food in our "food" how can that not cause cancer? Then you might ask, what is cancer?
I'm just a blubbering idiot though :) At least I'm honest.

But I will also agree with the fact you'll never see the bus when it hits you. You can't plan for it. Whether you ate the donut or not, your gonna die one day of something.

I work in the private medical insurance industry in the UK and see cancer cases on a daily basis, affecting people of all ages, lifestyles etc. Cancer doesn't discriminate.

Personally I don't eat clean, but I eat fairly healthy, I don't smoke and I rarely drink alcohol. My family history is all heart conditions, hence me trying to lose weight and get into a proper exercise routine to keep that at bay. I do agree living healthier is always a good idea to help prevent diseases and illness, but its no guarantee.

But I think I'll take my chances and enjoy my life, after seeing a 27 year old friend die from breast cancer last year I've realised its important to live your life and enjoy time with your loved ones because you never know how long you have got.

This is exactly my point!!! I have a friend that's got asthma, lung cancer, wagners (i know it's not spelled right), throat cancer and diabetes...she is 25 and have never smoked, doesn't drink and has always eaten relatively healthy. She just apparently has some bad luck. Like you said cancer doesn't discriminate and you never know what's going to happen. If it's your time to go it's your time there is no changing that.
