  • I am right there with you. I have had unsettling dreams ever since my sleeve in July. I am only on the Ursodiol and Prilosec, and the vitamins. Sometimes they are full on Nightmares, sometimes its just uncomfortable dreams that make me upset, but I haven't slept right in 2 months..
  • Yeah, my cholesterol levels are on crack too. Mine have always been perfect, but were slightly elevated at my last MD check up (I am 7 weeks out of the sleeve). Good news is, she wasnt tripping about it too much, just upped my synthroid since my thyroid levels were a tad off too, but she couldnt stop freaking out about my…
  • If I don't snack, I don't lose weight. I have had this issue a couple times. My doc told me not to snack, but I genuinely get hungry. But the snacks are very small, a cheese stick, some yogurt, just something that add to the protein count for the day.
  • I was running into the same issue. I had to rethink what I was buying and making, and now I plan meals for the week on what I can use from leftovers from one meal to make a new meal the next day.
  • What she said. EXACTLY what she said. Plus the Power Crunch bars have about have the carbs or less if you need to keep a certain amount per day. :)
  • I didn't have pain around my "big" incision until week 3, more like a crampy feeling. Let your doc know if it feels weird to you...
  • I probably could have went back to work after a week, however I am lucky enough to have a job that pays 100% for short term, so I have off 4 1/2 weeks, as per the suggestion of my surgeon. I'm glad to have the extra time off, its helping me get a rhythm down with food, fluid, and exercise, so I can be really prepared for…
  • I had the same thing happen to me last week (which was 3 weeks out). The first two weeks I felt like SuperGirl, but last week I started having cramping around my incisions (the bigger one they pulled my tummy out of). I took it easier for a few days, and feel much better now!
  • I was sleeved on 7/16/14- and my boyfriend was really good at keeping me distracted - we took a million silly selfies waiting for the doc to come back and get me. And when I got to the OR, I was laughing and joking with the nurses to make myself feel easier, even did a little dance in my purple paper robe when walking from…
  • Hahahah. Nail on the head. My follow up with the surgeon is next week, I will try to up my water (good lord its hard!) until then, and see what he says. Thank you!!!
  • Maybe since you are working out harder, you are building up muscle, which will help you lose weight faster again in a few weeks?
  • I am going through the same thing right now. I cant even think about going to bed before 1 or 2am, yet I am tried all day. I just cant seem to shut my mind off. I wish I could take my Advil PM - that always helped... Good luck!
  • I am 2 weeks out, and just now in the last two days starting to feel a "hungry" feeling in the morning. I wouldn't call it a pain, more of a physical awareness that I need to eat. I only have this feeling in the morning when I first wake up. At first I couldn't figure what it was at first, because even during my pre-op…
  • Cool, thank you!!

  • You can also freeze the IsoPure into little freeze pops. Protein and liquid - 2 birds, 1 stone, =). Popsicles are easy for me to get down, but don't just take my word for it. Everyone is different, some people tolerate warm stuff better, some room temp, some ice cold.. You will find out quickly what your body handles best!
  • I get my sample packs for $1 each at the support group meetings they have at the surgeon I was going to go to; they always have a nutritionist at these meetings so you can get whatever you need without making another trip. =)
  • I agree with everything said above! Its not HARD to sip the water, its just that you already feel stuffed, and you are trying to add more to the bucket. The easiest things for me to get down are broth and sugar free Popsicles. Some surgeons only have their peeps on clear liquid for a day or two, but my surgeon has us on…
  • My surgery is tomorrow, and I feel like you do! Especially since I have been able to lose 40 pounds in the last 40 days, I keep thinking, should I do this?? My answer, for me, is yes. As soon as I do not have a goal in front of me (my surgeon wanted me to lose 30 pounds after my 2nd consult in the beginning of June - I am…
  • I know what you mean!! Ive been on a pre-op diet since 6/3. and have dropped 34 pounds. I am now on the modified liquid diet, but I haven't been hungry at all until the last two days - I just want to tear up the frdge and pantry! Thank God we got all the crap out of the house a couple months ago- the worst thing I can…
  • Wow, thank you all for the advice- I appreciate it! I guess I need to check my MFP settings, because I never received notification that anyone responded.=) I have my pre-admission testing today (surgery in one week!) I will check with the surgeon today on the calorie count. I've been afraid of drinking milk because I am…
  • Im going in on 7/16, feel free to friend me, I am looking for support too!! =)
  • I am scheduled for 7/16!! My liquid diet starts on 7/2, but I have already been replacing a meal a day with a shake to lose the required 30 pounds. 26 pounds down, 4 to go, although I am shooting for 40 just to be safe! Good Luck!!!
  • 430. Was at 380 forever, my body went through something crazy in the fall and pushed me to 430. I am really motivated to get this crap off so I can start planning for a baby. Im lookin' for a few good motivators as well.... =)
  • Ugh - yes. I had one of those days last Monday. I had worked my tail off all week, and really watched my calories. I jumped on the scale, excited, on Monday morning for my weekly weigh in- and was SHOCKED to see I had gained 6 pounds. SIX!!! I was livid. And discouraged. I said screw it and went to Chick Fil A for…
  • Anyone who would refer to someone at 160 pounds as "my fat sister" should be slapped upside the head. =)
  • I have. I actually like it- but I don't think it works as advertised. The reason you lose weight on it is because you're so afraid that you will, um, have an accident that you eat next to nothing. Sorry, trying to be as polite as possible. It is supposed to block the fat, but if you consume too much fat (normally more than…
  • Absolutely beautiful!!! You sound like your mind is set - you will totally get there!!!
