Hi and welcome! Youwill find so much conflicting information on these message boards, so first let me say, FIND YOUR OWN WAY. Secondly, let me say I firmly believe you'll only have permanent success if you do this in a way you can maintain for life. For me, that meant not eliminating ANY foods I like. My food diary is…

My Polar FT4 HRM would be a close second!

KETTLEBELLS - HANDS DOWN. No question. Completely changed my body. I can keep my exercises challenging and work out at home for FREE.

Excellent work my friend!

Best of luck to you during your recovery. Everyone has a slightly different method that works for them and I support everyone in their journey and on their own plan. What has worked beautifully for me is to take my current BMR and subtract 300 and set my limit at that. Just Google "BMR Calculator" and figure out what your…

This can be a totally unrelated coincidence. Fat people and thin people can experience this. Either you have a cyst or you don't. You can have them your entire life with no problems or they can become inflamed and cause an abscess which requires surgery. If you have tailbone pain and press at the tip of the tailbone and…

Nope. I started a workout regimen at the beginning and am more muscular than I've ever been and still have the problem. It's loss of the fat pad.
-
YES YES YES. I actually Googled "tailbone pain weight loss" and found your post. I've been using MFP and have lost 53lbs since June of 2013. I have significant tailbone discomfort. My husband, a physician, says to take Aleve twice daily and probably for 2 months. He says painful tail ones take MONTHS to feel normal again.…

Thanks, teach ; )

This isn't really true. I got a baseline Dexa scan and have had follow up scans. I rarely eat back much of my exercise calories and I've reduced my fat percentage by almost 20% and have increased my lean muscle mass by almost 4 pounds of lean tissue. I'd advise anyone starting this program to incorporate strength training…

There's a lot of controversy re: eating back exercise calories on these boards. I stick to a 1200 calorie limit and have had great success, but when I exercise - I have freedom to eat more on those days IF I AM HUNGRY. I believe that if you're hungry and have the calories, you should eat. But if you're NOT hungry, don't…

Choosing a reply to these types of posts is difficult, because the program is simple math. Eat fewer calories than your body burns in a day. Keeping up with calories is simple - fast food places are great about posting calories. Even if you don't have a smart phone or internet access, there's never a valid reason for not…

You do not need a home gym or a gym membership. Sorry if this has been suggested (I didn't read through 4 pages of posts) but check out this site - www.fitnessblender.com and search on "Beginner Kettlebell Workout" All you need are a few kettlebells that you can buy at Academy and a small amount of carpeted floor space. Do…

My sister had gastric surgery and lost a significant amount of weight quickly. She lost a LOT of hair. It took about a year, but it started growing back. She's two years out and it's getting back to normal. It will come back : )

You can also say, "I have a pile of clothes that are too big for me now, would you like to try them on and see if you want any of them?"
-
You say, "Thank you for being concerned about me and for your support! I feel better than ever!" and you move on. That's it.

I also really really really hated exercising. Until I bought a Polar FT4 heart rate monitor. I wear it every time I exercise, and it shows me a pretty good estimate of calories burned during that time period. That gives me something to go add in MFP. I log religiously because I've tried everything else and this works like…

I'M SO SORRY! I misread the thread and thought people were supposed to post their before & afters if they'd lost 30 pounds. My bad! OOPS!
-
I'd be curious to know how you settled on your daily calorie limit. Can you elaborate? I'd suggest doing a quick calculation of your BMR for your current weight and setting your daily limit about 300 calories below that (at least). Then manually enter your calories burned for days you exercise. Eat whatever you want, but…

I eat whatever I want and I don't pay attention to macros, only calories. Naturally, budgeting my calories gives me more to eat if I choose meats & veggies vs. carbs, but I'm not going to successfully maintain my weight loss by eliminating cupcakes and potatoes, so I'm going to lose weight while learning how to eat all…

^^^This! You exercise to earn more food calories and to tone your body. You reduce calories to lose weight.

I love the EAS AdvantEdge Carb Control shake in French vanilla. It's a great base for any hot or cold drink or smoothie. Try adding coffee & ice and blending for a frappuccino. Add frozen strawberries (no coffee) for a smoothie. Add peanut butter for additional protein and calories when needed- so delicious. By itself it…

When you're adding foods, in the space where you type your food name, to the right of that space is an icon of a barcode. Tap that, then line up the barcode of your food label in the marked spot (it will look like it's taking a picture). Hold the label still and it will work quickly and result with the product and calories…

Feel free to add me!! Best of luck! Paula

I found being fat a lot more annoying.

^^^^^this. I use a Polar FT4 and it's the single most motivating thing that I've ever done.

My opinion won't be a popular one, but I'll let my stats speak for themselves (I'm also a Registered Nurse, for what it's worth). I'd calculate your BMR and see what your body needs in calories in one day of rest & no exercise. Set your daily calorie goal about 300-400 below this number and accept that your weight loss…
