Everyone has great points and something in there will work for you. I will agree 100% on getting a HRM, some of the machines at my gym underestimate and others overestimate. Also get a food/kitchen scale if you don't already have one. You can get an analog one fairly cheaply just about anywhere. It is amazing sometimes…

I get stared at when at the gym working out, that's because I look like a cardiac patient! I hate working out next to some female with barely a stitch on, full on make up and a gallon of perfume. It's not the pub honey, go away.

I love boston/lambs lettuce and gems lettuce and spinach. I love salad, I make low fat ranch dressing (skim milk and light mayo) and put in loads of yummy stuff, mushrooms, crisp corn, mushrooms, grape tomatoes, bell peppers, everything! I think my lettuce ratio is smaller compared to everything else. I love mandarin…

Not sure how old they are, maybe they can go with you?

Wow, that's a great motivator.

I want to chase my steak around the plate! Other foods need to be cooked till done not anywhere near burnt.

I work out Mon. Tues. Thurs. and Fri. at the gym. I do 90 - 120 minutes with the elliptical, bike and treadmill. I was trying Zumba, but a bad knee injury has ruined that for me. No more lunges or squats :( I also do about 15 minutes on the resistance machines, I alternate legs and arms. On the weekends I try to get in a…

So glad I'm not the only one! It is right around the 30 minute mark for me as well. I do try to move my feet a bit and wiggle my toes, but I have terrible coordination and just about kill myself when I do this. I love the elliptical so will put up with it. Great post!

I just finished 'Jessica' by Bryce Courtney, very good book. I didn't think it would be my sort of book, was given to me by a friend and I ended up loving it. I am currently reading Book 6 of The Dresden Files. After reading serious or heavy books I like to read one of these. I found www.pixelofink.com through a forum…

You look amazing! Well done, and what an inspiration.

My MIL shipped my daughter a box of twinkies in with our xmas prezzies. My neighbour was over to have dinner and saw them and just begged for one. He had been in the US about 7 years ago and tried one and hadn't had one since. So we gave him one and he sat it next to his plate and carried it around most the night till he…

It's been awhile since I've been, but I would say don't forget about The Fremont Street Experience, if they still do it LOL, it is really unique. I loved Vegas, have a great time.

So do you lick it? That just seems weird and gross. There are no quick fixes!

It isn't hopeless, but it isn't easy either. You need to take really small steps in the beginning. If you have your diary set up to lose 2 lbs a week, move it down to 1/2 a pound a week, do that for a month see what the results are and then bump it up to 1 pound when you are ready. You will do this, you're here and that's…

Kindle lover here! We live in the UK and all our family is in the US. Christmas has always been difficult as far as presents go because of shipping times and prices. My MIL got me an Amazon gift card this year but got me one for the US side instead of the UK side. Since we used to live in the US we had an Amazon account…

I've been a W(ork)AHM for years, my kids are 28 and 20...years. LOL but I still work from home and now have 3 dogs to take care of all day. :)

You have to give yourself time to get into new habits. Like Clarec said, start with small goals and work your way up. You have a lifetime of habits to change, you can do this, stay positive and celebrate the small victories.

They did a site update awhile back to add groups and since then you can't add tickers. The one I used to use was www.tickerfactory.com

When I used to smoke, hubby smoked cigars and this same one was my fav. I would have one or two a month. I often wonder if I could get away with smoking a cigar and then not want to smoke cigs anymore. It's been 2 1/2 years, not sure I want to risk it.

You all are doing so amazingly well! I didn't run the week before my holiday, of course I didn't run while on holiday, and didn't run the week after. I am going to have to put this on the back burner for now, it's just too cold and wet to run. I can't run on the treadmill, it's too hard on my knee, I have less impact…

We moved to the UK from the US so yeah I have a very distinct accent, though no one ever guess where we were from. I grew up in Texas so still stuck with Ya'll. Lived in Colorado for many years but not sure what I took from there. Living here has been interesting because of the things that are so differently named.…

I'm waiting on this as well. I've been watching the USA and AUS reruns. Waiting, waiting, waiting...

Welcome to Week 4. I am redoing this week, I missed my run on Sunday, yep too much wine. So instead of skipping a day or messing up my schedule I will just redo it starting Wednesday. The following week though we will be on holiday so no running for me. Yes I know I could run on holiday but it's only for a few days and I…

Well done, congrats. Tomorrow is my W4D3 as long as I behave myself tonight! We are going to see a friends band play at a local pub. I need to seriously limit my wine intake.

I got mine from Argos. There are 2 models but the cheaper one doesn't count calories. This one is only £29.99 and it works really well. Your pup is gorgeous. http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/9279526/Trail/searchtext%3EHEART+RATE+MONITOR.htm

Tomorrow (Friday) is my day 2, I will power through it. I might do an extra day if my legs are still so sore. I think the combo of the gym and running is why they are so sore lately. I do 40 minutes elliptical and 40 minutes treadmill 3 days a week alternating with running. I should probably cut my treadmill time in half,…

Good luck on your run, you will be fine. Happy Thanksgiving!

Well I did it! That last 5 minute run in the last 1 minute was pretty pathetic but I didn't stop. I concentrated on my breathing and that helped make the time go. On the last minute of my run the sun broke through the clouds and it was so pretty! I do fear though that I may need to repeat this week unless on Sunday I…
