Hey Widdy...I also struggle with the "yo-yo" thing as well. I am not sure if you use a treadmill or not, but a couple things you can do. You could either increase the intensity by incorporating hills or increase the speed which will also increase the heart rate. Or, you could increase the time or distance. I always use the…

I am hearing impaired so I would rather talk loudly and I would love to have everybody do the same.

My wife is trying to lose a few pounds....I have nothing to do with this, I think she is perfect the way she is. She weighs 130 LBS. and wants to lose 5 pounds. MFP says her net calorie intake should be 1,200. Is this right? She is really struggling to stay below her calories. Any suggestions?

I have to say that the fat content will hurt your weight loss, let alone the cholest. The key to losing weight is also eating healthy. Sorry!

I have finally been able to break the 227 plateau. I have lost 13 lbs in 4 weeks. I got to 228 rather quickly and I stayed there for a while. I changed up my cardio where I am only doing 3 days per week at 30 min and my weight continued to drop. It is ironic that I dropped the weight because prior to the last big drop, I…

I weigh myself every morning because it keeps me focused and motivates me one way or the other. If I gain, I work harder...if I lose, I keep going. So far it has worked. I have lost 11 pounds in 3.5 weeks.

You need to get a heart rate monitor. They will tell you everything you need to know regardless what workout you do. They can be expensive, but a great investment.

I have a handful of buddies, including my father, who have used it have gained back all their weight plus some after they went off of it. Most of them also commented on how jittery it made them feel. My father had heart complications while on it. :indifferent: It is not highly recommended, but good luck to you.

Oh, Ok! That makes sense. I guess I did not fully understand the BMR. Thanks for the help, again!

I have read numerous times on these boards where people recommend that we eat our extra exercise. It makes more sense not to if we are trying to lose weight. The way I understand this whole thing is that we have a set amount of calories recommended for us to eat. If we exercise, we get more calories to eat. This would make…

I do the check-in every morning and it does not change for me. I just did it again and put 200 in for my weight and the calories did not change.

I know it is not perfect, but it would have been nice to know, especially for people who think they are plateauing and are getting frustrated. I was just beginning to get frustrated. We shall see what happens.

Are we supposed to manually recalculate our BMR every time we lose weight? Mine never changed from when I first started and I have been eating the same amount of calories. I recalculated it with me new current weight and my alloted calories were reduced.

Wow...the first thing I would suggest, as a coach and a teacher, is to get him involved in after-school sport. He may not like it at the beginning, but he will eventually. During this time of year, I would try basketball first because of his height. He is tall for his age and he should experience some success right away.…

I have a question....Who do you people make it through Thanksgiving without killing what you have gained so far? I love Thanksgiving..the turkey, sweet patatoes, corn, stuffing..etc. The good news is...is that I am cooking it this year. Any suggestions?
