Hello! New to posting, after 1 month in with KETO and Intermittent Fasting. I figured it’s time to start participating in the community. You all have been so helpful and inspiring! I’ve done the Zone, whole30, low carb, so I finally decided to jump in and do Keto. I’ve wanted to dial my workouts way back, because I was…

There are studies out there linking those with serotonin issues having mood swings and depression on low carb diets. I had a difficult time with this when I was on Whole30 and had to add a little sweet potato to my diet each day. I have been cranky this time doing Keto, but after a month, it is mostly better.

I have a weighted vest that I don’t use too often, but this thread got me thinking that maybe I will add the weight I’ve lost to the vest as I lose and use it for my walks.

congrats!!!!

Newbie here: Will going over in protein hinder getting into ketosis?
-
So when I first did Murph, 3 years ago I got 51: something and did scale pullups and pushups, but didn't partition. This time, I finished in 66:something, scaled pullups and partitioned it into 20 Cindy's. I was so bummed. I think I would've been faster not partitioning out the exercises. Oh well.

I haven't signed up for it...yet. A friend on FB talked about it a little. I believe their hook is the small group coaching, daily check-ins and....a $25,000 prize for the greatest transformation.

bump? Anyone?

Add me and you are welcome to look at my diary. With all of your exercize, I'd be expecting your body to change first (in a good way) before seeing a bunch of movement on the scale. When I lost 30 pounds I was doing crossfite 4 times a week and eating primal, but it was slow and it was a lot of experimenting with different…

35 year old here, too! I agree with the Omega 3's. I have to get better with that!

Well, this is the Ketogenic Diet Challenge thread! lol!! :) I've tried sub 30 (to get into Ketosis) in the past.....that's what I was referring to.
-
I'm seriously considering this, but I am thinking I may be one of those folks who have seratonin issues and just gets SUPER moody/depressed/cranky on a low-carb diet. Not sure as I can't seem to last more than a week under 30g of carbs. Maybe I just need to be better prepared. Anyway, I'm willing to give it a go!!

200m run, 20 pushups, 500m run, 50 pushups, 750m run, 75 squats, 500m run, 50 pushups, 200m run, 20 pushups. 21:35.

Cogratulations, Mike! Your dedication has paid off and there is no doubt this is a lifestyle change!

Love the Chocolate Lovers Bar from Trader Joes!! It totally helps me not binge. After giving up all the crap, my taste buds have "reset" to really appreciate and be able to savor the chocolate.
-
And......now I have lindt ads to my right! lol! Glad I'm not the only one. You've lost quite a bit of weight, so the indulgence def. hasn't hurt you!

I'd love more primal friends. Been primal for 2 years, but over-ate even primal foods. MFP has REALLY helped me with my overeating! Does anyone else daydream about going to Primal Con in socal?
-
From my understanding, Paleo folks choose leaner meats and go easy on the fats. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Primal is about grass-fed, pastured, etc., and go for the fattier cuts like the chicken thighs, rib-eyes, bacon, etc . No need to fear saturated fat with Primal.

Lived in Cleveland--west side before moving down south to nashville. Love, love, love Cleveland!

Ok, after thinking about it and remembering The Primal Blueprint, if my body is in fat-burning mode, it should get what it needs from my fat, so I shouldn't be freaking out about going under BMR occasionally, right? A lesson in not surfing the main forums, perhaps.

coffee, coconut milk, coconut oil 3 slices uncured bacon 2 scrambled eggs in the grease 2 cups spinach didn't feel so hot after. Insulin response? Eggs are hit or miss with me and I'm starting to regularly regret eating them. I protest, though, because they are SO easy to make.

Congratulations!!!!

Good article!

Happy early birthday! Post the recipe, they sound yummy!

Yup, he's a dedicated Olympic lifting coach. Stacey Greenway is his name. Not my box, but thought I could reply.
-
I'll second the primal blueprint! Also, use measurements and clothes as your guide.

I like to stay in the sweet spot of 50-100/day. They are set below that but I rarely eat less than 50. I am one of those folks that gets super agitated and depressed on a VLC diet.
-
Hey sbiscotti---I went once, right when I replied here I was going to go. Stacey was awesome and I felt like I learned a ton just from that one session. We worked on the snatch, back squat and split jerk. It breaks my heart that I don't have the cf community of a box, but with my kids and schedule I can't get out there…
-
It's really a testament to you and your committment!! When I look at your times, I don't see slow at all. You must have a fast box. Also, I want to give kudos to your box and coaches for having the culture that supports beginners and keeps them coming back!! That says a lot. They are getting it right at your box!

you're doing great Cheri!!
