The best diet is the one that you will stick with. What works for me may not work for you at all.

I'm a runner. I'm also pretty tall. I would never survive on 800 calories per day and would highly recommend against it. When I'm tracking, I usually shoot for around 1,800 calories or so per day to lose weight but would never allow myself to go below 1,200 for more than a day or two.

Still on track here. I was having some severe acid reflux last week, but I think I got that figured out and handled.

6/21 - I failed at staying off the scale, but the number was lower so I'm good with staying off for the rest of the month. I also failed at keeping my carbs below 30 for the first few days, but I have been successful since 6/4, even with a Father's Day cookout at my parents' house. I brought my own fat bombs and stayed…

Interesting. I always think Facebook should have an eyeroll button, but I suppose it could cause some hurt feelings.

I clicked awesome, just fyi. I agree with all of this.

I do eat all the fat and meat I want and still lose weight! I just don't eat as much as I thought I would before I'm full... Love the flow chart!

And 30 days is such a short amount of time. During that 30 days you would have learned a lot about yourself, I certainly wouldn't consider learning a waste of time.

Tracking everything that goes into my mouth is a recipe for disaster. I will freak out and binge within 2 weeks. This is why blanket statements like this don't work.

Workouts are not my problem. My June goal will be keto every day, not taking any weekends off. I'm still recovering from Memorial Day weekend eating and drinking. Edited to add: My hardest goal for June - Stay off the scale. I'm not weighing myself again until July 1.

I put avocado in almost everything, including chicken salad.

Just because you think they all look younger than you doesn't really mean they are. Shaun's husband is your age and he does them. My husband is too. Age isn't really important when it comes to this, though.

Everything I was going to say has been said. Haha Mid-foot strike for me. After a while, you don't have to think about it anymore.

I'm curious what others do. I run half marathons and marathons on the regular. I ran 5 full marathons last year and 2 so far this year. In general, I eat my normal diet before the race - both the days and weeks leading up to it plus the morning of the race. But, then I find myself eating those icky Gu packets during the…

I've learned this about myself this year. I was doing really well and at my goal weight, so I allowed myself to eat pizza and drink beer "only the day before a half marathon or marathon" This quickly became every Friday (which, most Saturdays I am running a half marathon or marathon, but not EVERY week). That quickly…

If you're applying for a different job within the same company, yes tell your boss. If you're applying elsewhere, don't.

Ugh. It's two for me. One, fine... two, strapped to the crapper.

I'm very cautious about running on the snow because I've fallen down too many times. I won't run in the snow without my Yaktrax. I'd get me a pair and be prepared for next time if I were you...

My $0.02 - If you will use it to motivate yourself to move more, it's definitely worth it. If it's just something you look at and don't motivate yourself to try to move more, you're wasting your money.

I would agree with the above. The only thing that worked for me was professional help in the form of counseling. Also, maybe check out an OA group in your area. I've attended OA meetings intermittently over the years with differing levels of success.

OK, this is something that I have struggled with for years and years. I did see a counselor/dietitian/psychiatrist for a number of years, but you mentioned that may not be possible for you right now. The things that worked for me (and still work) are pretty simple. 1- Keep foods out of the house that you may use for a…

Good luck to you!! I'm not single anymore, but I did single-handedly raise 2 amazing kiddos. They're 23 and 22 now. It can be done!

Yay!! Glad you got it!

Sorry you didn't enjoy the happiest place on earth. I try not to let things get to me, especially when I'm on vacation. Why worry about crowds? I'm not in a hurry anyhow, I'm on vacation! Also, please note that there are a lot of "foreigners" who post here regularly...

Sorry about Porch Kitty, @Oberon21 Too bad you couldn't have been here longer. Broadway is all bar-hopping (and all tourists), but there is oh-so-much more to Nashville. I've found it to be an extremely active city, tons of stuff to do without even hitting a bar. It's been so hot here but managed to get some garbage…

So, Burger Republic. My son's 21st birthday was in October. He's a burger kid, he's tried every burger everywhere I think. He chose Burger Republic as the place to celebrate his 21st birthday. It's pretty awesome. Too bad the rest of the crew missed out. We had tator tot fondue. I had the Reeses' spiked shake (YUM)…

It's the only flavor of the moonshine that I can stomach, too. Haha.

<3 So glad you got to come up, Wendy!! Great recap! :)

Sleep well! Dan is coming in this afternoon. I think the boys want to cook things with fire tonight. (grilling some pork steaks like real southerners) If you have a car and aren't shopping til you drop all night, you can come by and have some dinner/drinks with us. Or we could come that way and connect later? We need to…

Well, I'm glad you're getting into the States, but it's still stressful dealing with it all! Enjoy New York! Do you get to Nashville tomorrow then?
