  • Thanks. This is a really helpful explanation. I do have a few workouts with high intensity intervals in my collection, but nothing that would really push you, like a crossfit kind of intensity (cross fitters would laugh, I'm sure). I admit I have a bit of an unhealthy relationship with exercise: if i'm not drenched in…
  • I guess then technically I'm not doing something right. I exercise out of habit and though I'm not training for anything in particular, I like the feeling of being able to get through a workout and feel like I accomplished something. I started working out on a regular basis when i was in college, and it became a daily…
  • I've been trying to shed my baby weight for over 6 years and once I actually got serious with it I started seeing some success :-) I like volume and feeling like I actually ate something so I incorporate fruit or vegetables or both into every meal. Apples and unsweetened applesasuce have been the best thing ever because…
  • I log it all including my vitamins (mostly to keep track of the fact I've taken them) to a point. I don't log spices. I want to maintain accountability and if I don't log it I'm only lying to myself. I remember one day I logged the 23 calories from the two cheetos I snuck from my daughter. It shocked me that it was that…
  • My clothes were way to tight and I kept squeezing into them because I did not want to buy anything bigger than a 16. I finally got on the scale and realized I hit the dreaded 250. Also I got tired of struggling to get put on and take off my wedding rings.
  • I've been following these kind of discussions pretty closely every since becoming more active with MFP about a week ago. These discussions have been absolutely eye opening for me. I didn't realize I was trying to fit myself into a mold that wasn't meant for me. I think if 1200 works for most, then it's what you should do.…
  • Same with me. I was on WW for a little over two years about 6 years ago and lost over 50 lbs, then I had to leave because I was pregnant. I had my daughter, then then rejoined a little over two years ago and lost over 50 lbs again. This time around though, I'm not having the same kind of experience as I once had,…
  • I'm new here to the boards too. Feel free to add me as a friend. It helps to be as active as possible in the community. It's amazing how many people have the same struggles as we do. In the end we're all here for the same reason: to get healthy and be a better us.
  • That's funny. I never even thought of that. I've never done a Richard Simmons video but I just remember watching him as a kid on TV and loving all his sparkle, clothes and personality, but especially those clothes. With Richard though he was totally into showing people of all shapes and sizes just to prove you are never to…
  • Depends on what your looking for. A better challenge or something you can work through a little more easily? 30 day Ripped is more advanced than 30 Shred IMO. I can do any two levels of Shred back to back in one workout session. Not so with Ripped. I have yet to get past level 3 and I've only managed level 3 once so far.
  • New here, but unlike with WW I'm logging everything. As everyone has pretty much said, every calorie adds up, but I still aim to get as many quality calories from my 5-7 fruit and veggie servings a day, up to 9 if I can hack it.
  • Thanks tatd_820. i feel like for now, this is keeping me much more honest than with WW. I felt it was too easy for me to fudge the numbers and to cheat on the tracking. Not to say that it's not possible to cheat on the tracking here, but I feel less inclined to do so, at least for now with the more accurate numbers. Plus…
  • LOL sPaRkLiNgLYFE, I know that's right.
  • Thanks everyone, I feel like MFP could be a better fit for me, and like I said WW was a great start but I feel like maybe the support here will be better. It's just on me to make the effort to seek it. Feel free to add me. I know we can do this!
  • congratulations! you look great!
