I just set my calories up in MFP - first for 2lbs per week, then 1.5lb now I am at 1lb. For exercise I walked - sometimes a lot sometimes little - for a while none due to an Achilles problem. By watching my calories and eating back about half what I burned, I dropped at a pretty uniform weight. What I am saying is the…

Please add me - I am currently living in Kent

Diet drinks are fine, but I have discovered it is easier for me to maintain my calories without them so I drink mainly water now. Not sure if this is physiological or psychological :-)

Good luck

Recently I have been walking 15 minute miles (4mph). Today I felt good and did 3.5 miles at 14:30 per mile. As I get lighter and fitter I will go faster - probably to 5mph before I start jogging.

I suffered from severe anxiety and depression over the past five years with high doses of medication for both. I managed to get myself out walking in June and have been gradually extending it since then. I have now started going to the gym 2 - 3 times per week. I am now completely off my medication and feel better than I…

No pre planning for me. I allow 700 calories for dinner in my thinking - sometimes it is over (generally I do not cook it), but not often - usually I have to top it up with fruit or something. I eat nothing until 1pm and then see what protein I can find and eat that together with fruits/vegetables. It would drive me nuts…

I weigh every morning and track the 7 and 28 day moving average

I am 228lb and sticking to walking - admittedly I am walking faster as the weeks go by approaching 4mph now. I plan to carry on walking increasing distance and speed as best I can and not start jogging until I get below 200 lb.

I am going to a beer festival with my nephews, so I will drink some beer, probably too much. I have eaten short 200 cals per day this week to allow for it!
-
I eat in a window from about 1pm to 7pm - I find it easy in the morning to go with just coffee (black) and water then I feel very satisfied with my calorie intake. It also helps me with decision making.

Thank you

I measure every morning - enter it into a spreadsheet and calculate the 7 day rolling average. That way I get a reasonably smoothed result and am not so bothered by daily fluctuations
-
I weigh every day but track the seven day moving average in a ss.

It can be useful to get a programme and motivation to ensure you stay on track, but if you look around he internet you can easily decide on your own exercise - I guess it depends how well you will stick to it. :-)

Welcome to MFP :-)
-
You can do it as often as you like, but I suggest weighing weekly at the same time of day. I will be weighing myself shortly as I do it each Sunday :-)
-
DItto the above - i am the same height as you and now the same weight you were so it is great to see what you have achieved. Excellent work congratulations, you must feel sooo much better ;-)
-
Congratulations! Well done you! :-)
-
Welcome back - you now know you can do it! Fabulous that you are here again. :-)
-
Good for you - great progress, keep it up! :-)

Hi - I do not have asthma but I do have a knee which is problematic after two operations 20 years ago. Prety much the only exercise I do right now is walking - as I get lighter (quite a bit) then I will up the intensity slowly. Without the walking, I would not have made progress. It is important to try to do some exercise.
-
Simon - I know the problem only too well - trying to manage the alcohol and bread down! :-)
-
A terrific story Simon - congratulations. I hope reaching your goal inspires you to remain there :-)
-
Well that is great Dan - I like the fact that your clothes are baggy :-)
-
Hi everybody - hope you all meet your goals in May. I am new here, but looking forward to encouraging you all through May :-)
-
That is a fabulous outcome - I am looking forward to baggy underpants! :-)
