I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's last June. I had the hardest time losing weight. I would only lose about 1-2 lbs a month and then nothing for a month. I was 127 when I started medication and got down to 119 when I was on 88mcg of Levothyroxine. My doctor lowered my dose to 75mcg because I appeared to be a little…

When I don't have time to pack a lunch or I just don't have anything to bring, I always stop at Dunkin Donuts and get a veggie egg white flatbread. And stare at the donuts...

You NEED to try Quest bars!!! I'm obsessed!!!

Cardio is NOT overrated. My asthma symptoms have decreased dramatically. Before I would have to use my inhaler just from laughing too hard. Now I can talk while running without having to take my inhaler.

I am currently on meds. We are still trying to find a dose that works. My last test 2 weeks ago showed I was overactive. With my luck I didn't lose any weight being overactive :grumble: LOL. I do feel better but my weight loss hasn't been affected. It still takes me a month to lose one lb.

THANK YOU!!

I was eating 1200 before I found out about my thyroid. I am well aware of how my body works, and what works for my body. Like I said, 4+ years of trial and error. This is what works for my short, sedentary body. Thank you though.
-
I'm not saying I recommend everyone eating just 1200 calories. I am just explaining why I do it. I went through trial and error to see what works for me. It is a learning process. I also didn't find out I had an underactive thyroid until recently and I already lost most of my weight.

For some it won't damage their health. Not everyone is the same. You shouldn't jump to conclusions saying it is going to damage someone's health unless you know their lifestyle and specialize in nutrition.

I eat 1200 because I am short and I am sedentary. I also have an underactive thyroid. I tried eating at least half of my exercise calories (I use my heart rate monitor for an estimate) back for 3 months, but I gained a significant amount of weight back. I have to stick with 1200 to lose, otherwise I just maintain or gain…

Get your thyroid checked.

Sounds like Medifast. They will start you off as low as 500 calories.

Also carbonation is a contributor to cellulite. No thanks since I already have loads of that.

I stopped drinking diet soda before all the studies came out. I became more hungry (STARVED actually) like a half hour after I drank diet soda and it made me crave sugar like there was no tomorrow. Also fruits didnt taste sweet to me. Ever since I cut out artificial sweeteners, fruit tastes so sweet to me now.

You should try Quest protein bars. They are DELICIOUS. Tons of protein and fiber (won't hurt your stomach like FiberOne products). I buy some to keep me from grazing at night as well.
-
i am a night time grazer as well. Always have been. I always make sure to have fruit to graze on. Wallaby vanilla bean yogurt with rasps and bluerberries.. yummmmmmmmm Save at least 100 calories for grazing at night.

Some people, like me, will gain weight if they eat more than 1200 calories. I tried upping my calories for 4 months and gained half of my weight back. I have an underactive thyroid so I have to stick at 1200 calories. And I am not using that as an excuse since I already lost almost 70lbs and have only 8lbs until I reach my…

You could have replied in a way that wasn't rude AF.

I just found out last month I am hypo. I lost around 65 lbs but only lost 20 within the last year and a half. I only have 7 lbs left to lose!!! I am on week 2 of my meds. I havent noticed weight gain or weight loss. I work out 5-6 times a week for an hour each time. With how much I exercise, I should have been at my goal…

I love my Polar HRM. It was $112...they usually run in that price range. I have had it for 4 years now and did not have 1 problem. Which ever brand you get, make sure you get one with the chest strap.

Both inacurate. Get a heart rate monitor...not 100% accurate but close enough.

^^THIS^^ Also,get your thyroid checked.

but to answer your question....KIND bars!

you can get a cooler that you plug into the outlet where you charge your phone! Also I HIGHLY recommend getting a windshield reflector. The car still gets warm but not as stifling as when you dont use anything.

I'm at the gym by 4:30am!! :drinker:
-
You can do it!! It is so much better to workout in the am...less people
-
I wake up at 3:50 every morning to be at the gym by 4:30 (I have to be in work by 7). I refuse to work out after work. You just have to get out of bed. It will be hard the first week or two but then your body gets used to it.
