Log the minutes you work out as Fast Dancing. I'd say that is similar
-
Log your measurements. If you work out a lot you may be just adding muscle. My rule if my weight goes up but my waist stays the same I don't worry. i've gained 10 lbs from my low but my waist is the same as it was when I hit the low.

Not much -- bow hunting is mostly sitting in a stand and trying not to move. When you do move on a stalk or to relocate you move VERY CAREFULLY and SLOWLY.

After a month I was able to stop using my scale. Could pretty much eyeball food and know the weight. Still get it out once in a while to see if my estimates are creeping away from accuracy -- hasn't happened.

Slower weight loss=less likely to regain weight. Understand that it is important to change habits and loose slowly. Rapid weight loss means you are more likely to binge or revert to old eating habits. To keep the weight off you need to change lifestyle and habits--don't think of MFP as a diet plan it is a control tool that…

More cardio, less lifting, more food.

call me obsessive. I've been doing it for years

Cardio will help you lose faster than weight training. Weight training will make you stronger and look better than a person of the same weight who doesn't lift. Planks, pull ups, pushups will help but they are more endurance exercises than weight training. They are useful and a good program could be a substitute for a…

Change salad dressings, Hop up the salad with different veggies, Get a rice cooker and do brown rice or quinoa. Experiment with low cal sauces and topping for the chicken and fish. Try pork loin slices, they are easy to cook and close to chicken breast in calorie density.

Smoothies would be much better. Since you retain and consume all the fruit or vegetable used. You can boost protein by using greek yogurt or protein powder. The greek yogurt will taste much better. Also, you will get fewer calories for the volume because retaining the vegetable and fruit fiber adds the bulk. When you make…

Standing upright row, pull-ups, lat pull downs, bent over rows, machine rows all target back muscles. PecDec, cable crosses and flys target chest. Building up your upper back and chest will make your waist appear slimmer. These exercises will also increase bra size w/o increasing cup size. However, the real reason you want…

There is a school of thought that artificial sweeteners cause the body to crave more sweets.

4 years ago I was in an oncology center waiting to see my hematologist (not for cancer, but for a serious condition) when I realized what a dreadful future a lot of the people in the waiting room were facing. I realized that diet and exercise are the two factors you can control that impact your probability of getting…

You are better off eating the fruits or veggies themselves that turning them into juice. Why save the sugars and throw out the fiber and some of the other nutrients. Juice diets should especially be a concern of overweight people who have been warned about a tendency to diabetes.

Both the NRDC and Blue Ocean are advocacy groups and you should be wary of any information they present. They do no research of their own and often present it with a spin or even misrepresent it. You are much better of going to the original source of the "information" they are presenting. Often they do not cite their…

Yes I count. Have been at goal weight several years now. Still count.

If at all possible do research on menu possibilities BEFORE you leave the house. If the restaurant doesn't post calories on the menu it is much more difficult to make the right choices with a menu in your hand.

They just dehydrate you. They are only useful if you are a boxer or wrestler trying to make a weight class.

I used to weigh and measure. Now I can pretty much eyeball everything. Since I have a smartypants phone I can log everything right before I eat.

There is something to being 66 and able to bench more than the 30-40 something guy at the next station who outweighs you by 20-30 lbs.

Only drink in bars where people dance. Dancing is aerobics with beer. Plus, dancing helps you pace the boozing. If you are dancing you can't be drinking.

Better to lose weight slowly than starve yourself. Fast weight loss is unsustainable. What you need for long term weight loss is a long term sustainable plan with an end plan( i.e.. what are you going to do to maintain once you hit your goal). The only really sustainable weight program is one that changes how you eat for…

Just add cardio-- start with .5 hour work up to at least and hour. Running, walking, skip rope, swimming or biking all work. Walking is easiest on you but more time consuming for workout. The rope is quickest to burn calories but much more intense.

At your age that is hard to do without a lot of unhealthy chemistry (hormones and steroids). As you age and testosterone levels fall it is a lot harder to bulk up. What you are talking about is the kind of shape elite athletes hit in the 20s 30s. I would rethink your goals. Look at your body type, increase your cardio and…

I dropped an unless from that sentence. I meant not a problem unless you are eating a lot of predatory fish like shark. Some of the very highest mercury levels are in top of the food chain pelagics like shark, albacore tuna, swordfish etc. These are the worst for mercury content: HIGH MERCURY Bluefish Grouper* Mackerel…

swimming will stoke your appetite more than other cardio. Has to do with body temp.

I'll bet you were bored in science and biology class in school.
