Great, we seem very similar!

I love beer, but mostly stay with the light beers. Coors Light, Bud Lite, Miller Light. I can afford those calories.

That's great! I was ecstatic this summer when I lost a couple pounds on vacation, too. We went to Toronto, and ate and drank whatever we wanted, so it was a surprise to me. But, we walked and biked everywhere. Just parked the car in the hotel garage because it was easier to just walk. Love those kind of vacations. Congrats!

Thanks, Oatmeal are my favorite!

Hi, I'm 5' 8" and need to lose about 30 more pounds. Feel free to add me. I need all the encouragement I can get, too!
-
Sounds fantastic! I'm going for it!

Type A for sure. I need the encouragement. I KNOW when I mess up, I don't need anyone to tell me. And the type Bs I've known tend to be know it alls, who think they are always right. Big turn-off for me. Who needs all the negativity? There's enough of that in the real world.

Just sent a friend request to you. Would love to be friends.

I am 54, and have lost and kept off about 45 pounds since 2006. Besides tracking calories, I think the key is building muscle. We lose muscle mass as we age, and muscle burns calories. I don't lift weights, but cross train with a variety of exercises. I still need to lose about 20 pounds, but people think I look younger…

I think it's fine. Probably even better to go under a few days, and then go over a couple days, as long as it averages out in the end. I used to keep a spreadsheet that tracked my average calorie intake. As long as I averaged 1600, I was losing weight. I lost 40 pounds doing that. Good luck!

Congrats! The more you run, the better it gets! Way to go!

lol

Counts for what? We're not competing. I guess if she wants to count it, she should.

I think you'll be OK either way. You are routinely running these longer runs with no problems. Doing what Brian said would definitely be the safest route to go. Knowing you snowshoed yesterday for the 1st time ever is probably what made your legs tired...working a new set of muscles. And btw, I really admire what you are…

Thanks people! Great ideas for Netflix!

Sometimes we get busy, and we miss things. Sometimes people post in the morning, and if you work you won't see it till evening, and by then it might be buried by all the forums your friends have commented on. Or maybe they are just unsupportive. Sorry they let you down....But wow! 365..that is amazing dedication! Congrats!
-
Sorry that happened to you. But, yeah, there are some real jerks out here. I ran into one, and geez, he knew he was so right about everything. Said I was so ignorant. But you know from his profile pic, he looked like a bully. And on his profile page he dispenses all this info about how he does his workout in great detail.…

Bump for later! :)

bump...can't wait to try these!

At 53, I'd have to agree that metabolism does slow down, but you can still lose weight. Increase your metabolism by building muscle & working out. I do 30 Day Shred and love it. It's a challenge, but I love the results I'm seeing. Would love to be your friend.

Not sure why you're panicked. From your photos you look beautiful, arms & all. But like the others said, weights are the way to go if you want to tone up. Good luck & Congrats!

I am 5' 8", at 179 now, and my goal is 165. i have a somewhat muscular build and have always weighed more than comparative friends, even though I was smaller. 165 feels comfortable, but when I get to 165, I will re-evaluate & might go to 145.

I have the same fear. Imagine driving, and a spider crosses your windshield. And you try to determine if it inside or outside. When I realize it is inside, and I am trapped, and panic sets in....I know the fear. PS You are an eloquent writer.

RIP Neil ... just doesn't seem possible that a hero like him would die. Astronauts seem immortal. A sad day, indeed.

And if you have to approach the landlord, then by all means, bring up the health issues brought on by second hand smoke. The smoker has the right to compromise his health, but he does NOT have the right to endanger you. Surely they would allow you to move under these circumstances. Good luck.

I'm sorry you're in this situation. That must be so frustrating. Personally, I'd talk to him, or keep my windows closed. Cigarette smoke is so irritating, and I am not asthmatic or super-sensitive. I couldn't live in a place where a neighbor is polluting the air in my home. But, he probably doesn't even realize it's…

I love, love, love it! When I start, I can't stop....I have no self control when it comes to peanut butter.
