  • Well for sure that makes sense now as the watches really don't lie. It really is x X y = z but x and y have to be correct.
  • Like Brian, I am a data freak and my multi sport device is the Polar v800. The fitbit's and misfits are great entry level devices but when you get serious about exercise go Polar or Suunto or Garmin with a Heart Rate monitor.
  • Hello, I have quick question as I have used 3 watches in the last 2 years, Garmin Fenix 2, Suunto Ambit 2S and my current Polar v800. You don't say if you are using a Heart Rate Monitor during your runs, can you clarify this? I just ran a 10K with my Polar watch and here are my numbers from Polar Flow: Duration 58:02,…
  • I never thought I would be doing yoga but it really helps my running. I find I have less pain and recover quickly too.
  • I do a lot of structured classes at my gym such as 2X week Body Pump, 3X week spin, Once a week Body Attack and once a week Yoga. I also run 2 to 3 times a week in fact I just completed my first 10K. I consume about 2200 calories a day.
  • I recently read somewhere that the secret to happiness is not to give a *kitten* what people think about you! Sorry for being so crass but I have enough of the comments. I lost over 60 lbs and to top it off my wife and I work out so with all humbleness, we both look healthy. The people who used to make comments about me…
  • When I started my new healthy lifestyle, using the Nutibullet was key to my initial weight loss. I love juice and juicing but hated the clean up after so this was a godsend. While I no longer use it everyday, I still use it about once or twice a week as I choose to eat my fruit and vegetables. What I love about it now is…
  • It is really difficult these days with so many styles of pants and Shirts. Modern Fit, Slim Fit and Regular Fit are the 3 I see most often and now that I lost the weight, I like to wear more modern fit/slim fit clothes. So when I try on a pair of regular fit pants (ie Dockers) , I will be a 32 but if I try a slim fit it is…
  • Hello I use the Garmin vivofit with a HRM to track my cardio exercises and while I enjoy the sync with MFP, I don't like how it labels an activity and does not let you edit them. For Example, I'll do Elliptical and it comes through on MFP as YOGA so I have to delete the YOGA and manually enter my activity. Now in answer to…
  • while we are on this topic....men please do not clip you toe nails in the locker room!
  • Please save your money and don't buy any! I have tried the Fitbit, Withings and even the more expensive one at the gym. They are all inconsistent and can screw up with your brain and motivation level. My body fat calculator is simple, I used to be a size 42 and now I am a size 34 waist. I tried on a pair of skinny jeans…
  • Greater Toronto Area!!
  • I gained 9 lbs on my last vacation. Who cares, you're on vacation! You're in a hotel, not cooking your own meals, eating and drinking at restaurants, not exercising etc., When you get back, you'll resume the lifestyle you had before you left. I lost all 9lbs in 3 - 4 days. Easy On - Easy Off
  • I have a different take on things as I too have been told that I may have become obsessive with calorie counting. Let me first say that I have never accomplished anything in my life without being obsessed by that goal. Perhaps most of you can just go after a goal as you tiptoe through the tulips, but I cannot. Everything…

  • When I run I love a lot of things like........ Beating my personal best time When I am real sweaty and a little rain starts to fall At the end of my run where I think I just cannot take it anymore and that one song that gets you going comes on the shuffle The bowl of oatmeal that awaits the completion of my run The feeling…
  • My gym offers LesMills programs and I just started combat. If it's anything like LesMills RPM and LesMills BodyPump that my wife and I do 4 times a week, it will be well worth it and very well thought out. good Luck!
  • Whats funny is the same people at work who used to comment about me being too fat, one guy used to ask me every Christmas if i was auditioning for a role in the Santa Parade, now tell me I am too skinny! Who cares what people think! I am almost 50 and I have discovered one important thing.....the happiest people in the…
  • AIM Pro Peas - Pure Vegan Protein Powder and tastes great.
  • Where do I begin? The major thing for me is Tim Horton's Coffee as I used to be a Large Double Double and now I take a medium regular with milk. In fact just today I went down to milk and half a sugar as I am venturing to eventually take my coffee black. I could never have 10 or 18% cream in my coffee again! That is 600…
  • Let me state first that I am not a rep for any company just so you don't get the wrong idea. I used to juice all the time but my wife and I just spent so much time peeling veggies and then much time scrubbing the juicer when we were done it took the fun out of juicing. So we discovered a company that has carrot, beet,…
  • It will be a year since I started tracking on June 22nd. So far 57lbs, 42 waist to 34, 18 inch neck to 16, XLarge to Medium. More important than all that is I have not taken 1 antacid this calendar year and my wife says I do not snore anymore. She was ready to send me to a clinic. Sleeping in my own bed and not on the…
  • I was 237 lbs when I started and when I went down to 220 lbs that August morning I said to myself "If I can do this, I can go down to 170lbs!". It has now been 6 months and I am down to 192, I am eating healthy, working out everyday including spinning classes with my wife and I am down 2 1/2 pant sizes. Most of all the…
  • Hello Everyone, I have the 410 with the ANT stick and I just noticed that you can sync it directly with Runkeeper. You go to run keeper on your desktop, click on "LOG" then click on "RUNNING" then UPLOAD then "IMPORT FROM GARMIN DEVICE" and it looks for your GPS watch. You totally bypass the Garmin Connected.
  • Hello and thank you for the support of everyone. I actually did not know you all responded. I am down to 193 now but stuck at this, I guess I need to raise my intensity of my workouts.
  • I just noticed your question and in case you have not discovered this yet, the garmin gps watches that use ANT+ can sync directly with run keeper. I have the 410 and it works great.
  • Just had a physical and I am down to 199 from 234 last May. Everyone at work is thinking I am on "crack" (Rob Ford Reference) but with MFP, walking, running I am getting it done properly. Oh and add Jawbone UP and an AIM Smoothie in the morning too!! Bought a pair of Dockers yesterday - SIZE 36 BABY!!! My last pair I…
