It was Caesar's Legion right at the beginning of the quest where you're supposed to recover the Platinum Chip. I couldn't continue in any direction. He was stuck and wouldn't give it to me, so I killed him and it didn't drop. Suuuucked.

Oh man... You can make some really grievous errors in those games! I was playing Fallout New Vegas and got myself in trouble with a faction... went through a huge camp and killed everything in sight. I didn't think the game would let you ruin everything... I was wrong. I got myself into a position where the game literally…

Haha! Really? I hope it wasn't a scary dream!!

Thank you so much, SeattleLove and thinkingthingirl. :D

This is my peacock. He's a handsome fellow. :) I've got plans for my legs next. I love getting tattooed. Edited to add: He's about 50 hours worth.

Riiiight on top of my sciatic nerve. I'm sure there was an invisible man hiding under the table punching me in the calf. Not cool, invisible man!

Bahaha! Ok... that little censor was pretty funny! Thanks so much for the recommendations. It's true that it's not really going to hurt to give it a try. If I hate it or it doesn't work, I'll just fight through it and try something else. I'll never quit lifting, I've just apparently gotten "softer" with age. :)

SO many great movies in this thread! Seriously! One of my favorites is The Legend of 1900. It's the sappiest movie I've ever loved.

I think it depends a little bit on how interested in the "gears" of the science you are. It's an easy read, but has a lot of technical data. I liked the book! Maybe $40 was a little much, but I have re-read it a few times and enjoy having the reference. Leangains is my favorite method, but the ESE book is super…

Your macros aren't really as important as you might think. The calorie deficit is the most important aspect, followed by enough protein to support muscle development. As for the morning workout, here's Martin's post: http://www.leangains.com/2010/05/early-morning-fasted-training.html

Thank you so much for this thread, OP! I am and always will be a huge fan of lifting hard and heavy. I think women are almost (there's my qualifier) always pleasantly surprised at the results when they give it a chance. Fears of bulking aside, just being stronger is a wonderful feeling. Then again, that's entirely my…

This is so freakin' neat! Is it too late for joiners? The geek in me just jumped for joy.

Absolutely stunning. Congratulations.

Welcome to MFP! Feel free to add me if you'd like. Having support is so important... I'm sorry your friend isn't pushing you in the right way. You can absolutely do it!

I've been reading (almost obsessively) about IF for months. I'm ready to take the plunge. I'd be happy to have some friends on a similar track. :)

Mark de Grasse. They're intense and amazing.

Great book! I'm glad you scored that one to start with. Everyone gave great advice. A trainer can definitely help you the first time to help you get an idea of what weights to start with. The previous post about how much you can easily lift/can't lift at all is a good gauge. It's important when strength training to always…

Hey warriors! I'm pretty new here. Sounds like August was a pretty great month. I'm 31 from a small town in Montana and looking to lose about 50-55 pounds. Hope I can join in with you guys and gals. Friend request are welcome... I could use the motivation. :)

Welcome to the boards! Woot! Feel free to add me as a friend, if you'd like. That inner athlete just needs to find what she loves! Congrats on the big 45 win. You can totally do the rest.

I'm SO excited that you started this group! Rock ON! I just joined MFP yesterday, so I hope I'm not too late for the introductions. I'd love to join the group. I'm Mad Moxie and I skate with the Hellgate Rollergirls from Missoula, MT. I've been skating for almost two years, both with my home team (the Dirt Road Dolls) and…

Bratty DJ nudists? My favorite kind of friends! Feel free to add me. :) P.S. Nice ink. I've got a big one, too.

Right?! I kept some of the really good workouts and threw the rest of that journal away. :) And thank you!

Since it was estimated by the ACE at almost 20 calories per minute, I totally added kettlebell training manually to the cardiovascular section. I personally feel like it's more of a strength training exercise, but I think it's important to get credit for such a killer workout. I usually just estimate my time a little bit…
