Megan_smartiepants1970...Thank you! I will give one of these a try. I'm thinking that the sweetener used is critical to getting proper texture and sweetness. Just need to experiment with a few different ones. Looks like she uses an allulose blend, which is one I haven't tried yet. Thanks again!

My experience: I take magnesium citrate (better absorption), powdered form, as needed. It helps when electrolytes are out of whack due to dehydration, and symptoms such as muscle cramping or a general feeling of ickiness is present. I'll mix about a half tsp up to one tsp into a beverage and take it that way. I'm about 6…

I've tried the fatfast for a week. I wasn't a very happy camper...needed more protein than the fatfast allows w/ its calorie restriction and % from fat required. My best success to date has been the meativore approach to eating...very low carb and majority of food from the animal kingdom. Fat to satiety.

LOL...Oh, yes...the texting anticipation!!!! I just got one a second ago, informing me that there will not only be ribeye but roasted brussel sprouts on the menu for this evening. I told him on the first date that I do keto, which he had never heard of. I explained and he said, "Huh. That's how I eat all the time." I think…

Nope, I don't always show a gain the next day...especially if drinking. The alcohol dehydrates you even further than just low carb/keto does. I often DO bump up a pound or two the following day as my bod rehydrates, plus some. One binge-fest at Taco Bell is NOT going to undo what you've accomplished unless you make it a…

Let me just chime in here and say that I've jumped into the "fishpond" myself within the last month. Had some of the same slightly unnerving feelings about the first meetings, but reminded myself that my profile and pics were honest and that I am headed in the right direction, even if I'm not exactly where I want to be…

Water, water everywhere...and every drop I'll drink! lol Just one June: 64 oz. daily

Better late than never...had to finish up w/ final check in! 5/1 starting weight: 219.2 <--water retentive state after a carb-fest 5/8: 212.4 5/15: 210.6 5/22: 205.6 5/31: 208 -11.2 My birthday festivities (which lasted quite a number of days!) contributed to the bounce back up for my final check in, but overall I am still…

5/1 starting weight: 219.2 <--water retentive state after a carb-fest 5/8: 212.4 5/15: 210.6 5/22: 205.6 -13.6 I am absolutely astounded. And convinced that this will remain my new WOE. :-) In pondering why this is working for me, I attribute it to the fact that I am completely relying on my hunger/satiation clues, and…

5/1 starting weight: 219.2 <--water retentive state after a carb-fest 5/8: 212.4 5/15: 210.6 -8.6 I wholeheartedly agree w/ Karlottap in saying that this "tweak" to my low carb/keto-ing is where my body has obviously desired to be. LOVING it. Will again reiterate that I'm not 100% meativore as I'm still using AS in…

I compare cutting carbage to climbing a mountain. It IS hard, you WILL feel kind of crappy while you're doing it, but if you keep that mountain top in view and remind yourself how accomplished you will feel when you summit, the view from the top is SO worth it. The longer you toy around w/ the crappy carbs, the longer it's…

Well you know SOMEBODY was going to throw this out there: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=anwy2MPT5RE Fried spam and eggs = yum. :-) I don't make it often, but I usually have a can in my pantry for just the type of emergencies that OP finds herself in right now.

Did 20 consecutively yesterday, though am using a barre for stability. Have not achieved thigh/floor parallel-ality yet. Think I'll manage 25 today, but once I get to 30 I may need to start breaking them into sets. ;-)

Alrighty, then. The peer pressure was just...too...much. ;-) Had one egg left in the carton this a.m., not enough to do anything with other than to give this coffee tweak a try, so I did. My BPC base is apprx. 1 TBSP each butter and EV Coconut Oil, plus cocoa powder and some DaVinci SF syrup, so I added to that one whole…

From one vocalist to another, hearing about your return to the stage and your markedly improved health makes me happier for you than any number on the scale. Although, we both know how beneficial ditching the white, processed, starchy stuff can be. ;-) Fabulous job!!!!

I'm in! Funny that this thread popped up for me today. I'm down 30 pounds and was just thinking this weekend that I need to get my butt in gear (LITERALLY) to start tightening things up. Last time I dropped this much I was active at Curves, so that really helped to keep the jiggle factor in control. This time, with no…

So, don't be that person. :-) It's about getting together to celebrate your mom, not the food. Steer clear of the obvious offenders (rice, noodles, obviously sweet sauces, breaded stuff) and don't sweat the few carbs that might infiltrate what you do order. I see some seafood dishes that would be okay...if the sauces scare…

5/1 starting weight: 219.2 5/8 212.4 -6.8 lbs Definitely inflated success numbers here, due to my LEAP off the keto wagon the weekend (and a few days following) prior to first weigh in. However, if I go by my lowest weight before the carbage fest, I'm still down two pounds...so there's that. ;-) I'm actually up a smidge…

5/1 starting weight: 219.2 I plan on continuing using AS (stevia, sucralose) sparingly in my coffee and tea, but no faux desserts. Remainder of food from the animal kingdom, so my biggest challenge will be in leaving out veggies, nuts, and seeds for the month. Will limit dairy to "condiment" portions rather than as a snack…

4/1: 219 4/8: (Didn't officially weigh, think it was around 218) 4/15: 216.6 4/22: 216.2 5/1: 219.2 __________ + .2 lbs Sabotaged myself for the final weigh in after throwing keto-cares to the wind over the weekend. During the course of this challenge I hit a new low of 214.6 late last week, then water-weighted my way back…

After a quick glance at your diary I'd say the culprit is an electrolyte imbalance. Your sodium is very low, as well as your calories being on the low side. Drink some beef or chicken broth, salt your food liberally, maybe try to get in a few more calories...that should help. If you're still having issues, it may be worth…

Amen, sistah!! ;-) Couldn't agree with you more. There is nothing wrong with living your life in a "self-ish" way, ie: putting on your OWN oxygen mask first. I want to be strong and fit again because when I'm healthy I have the energy and the desire to give and do so much more for others. But ME first right now, THEN I…

4/1: 219 4/8: (Didn't officially weigh, think it was around 218) 4/15: 216.6 4/22: 216.2 Up from my lowest low so far (215.6) which I hit Saturday when I started TOM (typical water loss for me). Have only had one non-keto-for-me day so far this month, and that was this week. Had the most amazingly AWFUL headache all day on…

Have you seen this yet? http://www.flexibleketogenic.com/ I use it to track whether my overall macros fit into a ketogenic ratio. Might be helpful for you. :-)

I use my Braun immersion for foodstuffs, and I use the "frother" that Knit referred to for my BPC (I actually have two, one for work one for home). I don't think I paid more than $10 or $12 each for them. Mine are battery operated...in retrospect, I should've sprung for the rechargeables because I've gone through some AAA…

My diary is open to friends, however I'll warn you that it is boring, repetitive, and designed to be pretty mindless when it comes to counting carbs. ;-) I'm much lower than your carb target (at or under 20g), but maybe there will be an idea or two that you can take and run with. I've been actively back on track w/ low…

Some do (subtract fiber), I find more success if I don't. It's too easy for carb creep that way. My rule 'o thumb is to try to keep total carbs at or under 20, but if I exceed that occasionally by 10 or so and it's mostly due to additional veggie/fiber carbs, I can live with that. I'd rather keep carbs low and go over on…

A warm welcome to you! Feel free to friend, if you'd like... :-)

WELL, in THAT case...I'm in. ;-)
