  • You probably pushed too hard, take it easier weight-wise at first, make sure you have the correct posture. Then you increase the weight every time. A certain level of pain/soreness is normal (I personally love feeling sore after a good workout), but it shouldn't hurt ridiculously hard.
  • First of all, congratulations! You've done an amazing thing! Now, to answer your question, from what I've read here and there, ideally you should up 100-150cals and keep the new number for a week or two, then increase again and maintain another couple of weeks, until you reach the point where you don't lose anymore. It's…
  • My fitbit blaze is pretty accurate too, I lose around the amount projected based on CICO and exercise. Fitbits will be more accurate than gym machines, as they have your exact info and they get a much better reading of your heart rate.
  • having a huge serving of watermelon
  • Agreed! Amazing weight-loss, by the way! Congratulations!!
  • Cosmic Encounter :)
  • ISFJ here :) very interesting stuff, I wonder why not more companies actually use these tests and match the employee with the right job.
  • I wouldn't go higher than 185-190 tops. I was doing a circuit at the gym once and I noticed afterwards that I had a max rate of 204. I remember some heart burns that evening and the next day, like my heart was really tired. From then on, I have been careful not to go over 185-ish.
  • I'd tell them not to do all the things at once and restrict or change every habit they have from the start. Make it do-able long term!
  • Yes, I do. I plan my meals, I have the 3 meals of the day plus snacks. If I wait to get hungry, I risk eating the wrong food.
  • I have my diary public and am pretty active around here. If you like it, you can add me.
  • Of course I want to look great in skinny jeans (I have a couple of pairs in my wardrobe) and in bikinis and all. But honestly, all I want is not to feel like binging. I don't want to ever eat mindlessly again. I just want to be in control of my eating for a long long time. I don't care if I only lose 1 kilo/month as long…
  • Wow! That's all I could say after reading and especially seeing the photos! Congratulations! You did great and look amazing!
  • You just need some time to get your body used to the exercise. A couple of times, during a circuit, I went over 200 beets (when my max is 193, as my Polar FP7 says) and I felt my heart ache a little afterwards. So it's not good to take in more than you can handle. Just keep training and your body will ask for more when…
  • It's always a little difficult to get yourself back up after a "binge". What I'd suggest: try it for 24 hours. Always think: I only need to stick to the plan for the next 24 h! And instead of thinking of making time for an entire workout, just slip in really short bursts, like dancing to a song you love (you can do that…
  • My boyfriend gave up smoking cold turkey 2 and a half years ago. I remember that the first week he was extremely edgy. But he kept at it. He installed a Firefox app that kept track of the number of days and the money not spent on cigarets. He snaked a lot for a while. Always had gum at hand. And sunflower seeds (the ones…
  • There's good fat and there's bad fat. What you listed there is definitely nothing to worry about. If you really want to reduce it, you could choose something one day and something else the next. But fat is really not as bad as it's thought out to be. Actually it helps you not be hungry, among other things.
  • Theoretically, low-carb doesn't allow fruits. But it depends how low-carb you want to go. If you allow a closer to normal amount of carbs (100-150 g), you can have some fruit. The fruits lowest in carbs are the berries, nectarines & peaches, melons.
  • Yes, you're right. When you start with larger amounts of fat, you can have a smaller calorie-intake. That's if you don't feel weak, have cravings etc. After 2-4 weeks, you should increase your calories anyway. Still, I have male friends that are constantly losing with 1700-2000 cals/day and exercise. I think this is way…
  • If you're hungry all the time, that means that you're not doing that great on the 1200 cals diet. Re-*kitten* your weight-loss plan and make it sustainable. Eat more!
  • I can't see your diary, but with that amount of exercising, I hope you're not starving yourself! Do some strength training (the heavier kind). And have fruits! It definitely helps with the cravings and have lots of vitamin and fiber, without the problems that processed sugar brings. Without knowing more about you, this is…
  • I've been using the Polar FT7 since December and it's great! I fully recommend it. I got it from amazon, but I don't remember the price.
  • You definitely need 1-2 rest days/week. That doesn't mean that you turn into a couch-potato during those days, you could go for walks etc. But! 1200 cals/day is the minimum for a woman. You should eat way more, and definitely go into some of the exercise calories too. With exercise, you could probably eat 2000 cals and…
  • I took a look at your profile pics. You are slim, very nicely toned and beautiful! Some people need time to change their image of you. And others are just plain envious. Keep exercising and eat healthy. You're not dieting anymore, so you can indulge every now and then. But there's no reason to question yourself! Get your…
  • Actually, you should NOT eat under your BMR. Especially if you exercise. Way more if you exercise hard, like you are. You're burning anywhere between 500-1000 cals/day just for those 1-2 h of exercise and only eating around 1500 cals. No wonder you feel weak. Log your exercise and eat some of those cals back, let's say…
  • Today has ended, so take a deep breath and calm down! To be able to fix tomorrow, take a good look at your diary. I did so and I would recommend the following: increase your protein (a lot!), aim for 100 g/day. If possible, decrease a little your carbs, aim for around 150 g. This can be achieved by changing some carby food…
  • You can't compare sugar from fruit with sugar in sweets! The fruits are full of vitamins, very healthy for you body and it takes care of the sweet-tooth as well. If 75% of your sugar comes from fruit, I'd say it's great. You could do a little research of what fruits are higher in sugar/carbs. For ex, oranges and apples are…
  • Geez! Lighten up, everyone! I get that some diets make you edgy, but you're not teenagers any more! Everyone's entitled to his/her own opinion and maybe if you calmed down a little bit and used arguments, not shouting, you'd feel a lot better!
  • I say reduce carbs, but don't eliminate them. I go for 100-200 g/day. I noticed losing easier on low carb, but as I really like bread and have a sweet-tooth, it won't work for me long-term. So I keep my eyes on the carbs, but enjoy goodies every now and then.
