Glad to hear you wear your helmet. It's the law where I live and they still ride around like idiots with NO helmets, weaving about in and out. Thanks for posting!

If you find that you need something - try something light and easily digestible such as a banana - gives you a bit of energy/fuel to exercise on.

Have you posted a giant STOP on the fridge as a reminder? That might work. I knew a fellow who did the same thing, but that was years ago and unfortunately I don't recall how he stopped. And he did proceed to lose quite a bit weight. Granted what you're eating isn't unhealthy, but your metabolism is in "sleep", "rest" mode…

I bought a pair of last years model. They still weren't cheap at over $100 - but this is Canada ($$$$). I've been away from running for a couple of years and would like to get back into it a bit, but didn't want to fork out close to $200 for the latest and greatest.

You'll never escape getting older or looking older. But if you want to look younger - you need to feel/act younger and in turn will look younger.

I'm slower than you - it takes me closer to 35 minutes to run 5km

Excellent job! Do you realize you weight less than what you lost (which is a whole person)? I hope you have a fabulous reward for yourself!

ahem, yes, chocolate....also I like a dish of frozen blueberries as a evening snack too. And I am guilty of going over at times. After all "I" am human.

Their ground turkey is great.....good substitute for ground beef in spaghetti and burgers....also love the Janet & Greta Gourmet chicken burgers - available in Canada, not sure about the States - super easy to make and nutritional good.

Haven't been on my bike for about a month....last year I rode 11 out of 12 months which is great for B.C. So hopefully the icy/frosty roads will clear and I'll get out there soon!

Give yourself time....no one says you have to stop grieving...you are mourning the loss of a loved one. Remember him, he was a big part of your life for 9 years! I still miss all the animals in my life, they have been my children. You'll know when you are ready to move on...you might even consider another rabbit in…

I love your story! I love the MRI pictures....they really hit home with me.....thank you so much for sharing.....and I agree, probably one of the most inspirational stories yet! Congratulations....you look wonderful!

Really, is there a reason to drink? No. I've had to quit twice. After quitting for 10 years the 1st time, I thought I'd be able to handle it....nope. Now I know after the 2nd time, I have no off switch, I plain out just can't drink. Much like you, I'd drink a bottle of wine a night and maybe something else too. So it's…

I live in an area where bears and cougars are the thing to watch out for. I'll avoid an area where either have been spotted if I'm alone, but in a group setting, the noise we make is a good deterrent. Dogs can be a hassle too; I had a couple of Doberman pinchers chase after me during a Half Marathon...scared the bejeezes…

I gained about 10 lbs when I quit smoking despite exercising. I think in part it's the "new" taste of the food that does it. You're taste buds aren't dead from the cigarette smoke and everything tastes waaay better. Do the best you can, you are making a healthy choice, let your body adjust. You can't do everything at once.…

Oh my God! I've lost my head :D and some baby back ribs to boot!

Unbelievable how much younger you look. I can understand why hubbies friends are commenting about cradle snatching!!

I read your profile and was thinking, why not start with some basic forms of cardio such as walking more, and walking those stairs. Maybe walk one or two flights for a week or two and then build up (add a fight) and when you're walking, start running between telephone poles or any sort of marker or even for 5 - 10 seconds…

Awesome job!

You're on.....I'm just a bit taller, but still have 50 pounds to lose.....request being sent.....

glad it's not impotent....

I think the thing to watch is "added" sugars, not natural sugars...not sure if on 9 pages of responses, someone has already mentioned this...also as a note, bananas because of their high sugars, half is considered a portion..... I can sympathize with your frustration, as I too, watch when I can, the dreaded sugars.....

Thanks everyone for your fabulous responses! I nearly didn't keep it until you all responded! I just need to get my fitness room in the basement tidied away and get rid of this cold/flu bug. The next step will be the "play" button lol.....

I'm 190 ish and I'm aiming for about a 50 pound loss, so if anyone's interested in adding me.....
