I eat 85% and love it. My fave is Green and Black's. I'm eating low carb and have about 20g of dark chocolate a day.

Unless you're trying to keep your protein down, you should be eating meat more than a few times a week. Atkins is Low carb, high fat, moderate protein. You should eat lots of fatty meats, or lean meats supplemented with healthy fats like butter, coconut oil etc. I find Macadamia nuts, or macadamia nut butter is a great way…

It's not a single group of humans. For 2.5 million years, all humans, ate very few carbs. It was only about 15 000 years ago, when agriculture became a hit with the cavemen/cavewomen, that we started having them more frequently in our diets. 15 000 years is not long enough for our bodies to have evolved and adapted to…

If you're eating more than 20 grams of carbs, you're NOT doing the induction phase of Atkins. Just sayin'. http://www.atkins.com/Program/Phase-1.aspx

I like to put some in my coffee. A tablespoon or two instead of cream or milk. I use one of those spinning milk frother wands to mix it in. I also use it anywhere I'd use other oil: frying eggs or chicken or vegetables, for example.

Ghee or coconut oil or black, but ghee is my favourite.

In the following order: Almond, Macadamia, Peanut

I invite you to read Gary Taubes, Why We Get Fat and What To Do About It. In it, he explains how losing weight has nothing to do with calories in/calories out. It has everything to do with the quality and type of the calories you're eating and how they affect insulin in your body.

I' ve cut carbs down to the point where I no longer have any sort of cravings to battle against. I eat everything and anything I want, so long as it has very few to no carbs. Lots of vegetables, lean and fatty meat and healthy oils. I use MFP just to keep track and make sure I actually eat ENOUGH food. I find I'm almost…

I'm in my 40s and while I listen to all kinds of music styles and eras, I prefer 80s pop for working out. Here are three from my playlist: Safety Dance, Men without Hats Africa, Toto (awesome song) Sunglasses at Night, Corey Hart

Great job. You look great.

I've done Atkins before and lost a ton of weight on it, now I'm doing a more general keto diet (which is an awful lot like Atkins). I go to the gym 3 days a week for strength training. Add me if you like.

My plans for the coming week will be to focus on eating slightly more calories and keeping my fat/protein/carb ratio in check. I'd been eating well under my BMR calories (bringing them up lately) and I've been eating a few % too much fat and a few % too little protein. I've just incorporated some protein powder in my…

I'm finding it pretty easy. I also did Atkins wayyy back and lost a ton of weight. I gained it back over a decade of poor eating choices. I'm now doing keto, based on my knowledge of Atkins. One of my favourite parts of keto is that once you're in ketosis your cravings disappear. At least mine do. I don't need chocolate or…

Best bacon poem ever. Heck, best poem ever.

I buy low sodium tuna and salmon, so I'm not too worried about that.

Thanks for putting this together. It's very informative and clears a few things up for me.

Low carbers can go even lower. My goal is around 20, although I often go a little over. In general, Keto-ers try to keep carbs at 5% of our total calories. So, for someone eating 2000 calories that would be 100 of them from carbs. 100 calories of carbs is 25g of carbs (4cal/gram). The standard keto ratio is 65% fat, 30%…

Why in the world would you send your son to catholic school if you are atheist?

I like reddit.com/r/atheism for some mindless atheist fun.

Sorry, I don't seem to be able to edit my post. 85g is one serving of tofu. You need to double that to ~170g

So should we log water as exercise?
-
I'm pretty sure water has 0 calories.

I'm eating low carb, but this super simple recipe would probably word for just about anyone, and it's delicious. 2 servings of silken tofu (~85g) 1 packet any flavour Crystal Light Singles Mix or whisk. Divide in two and share with a friend or save second half for tomorrow. Enjoy.

I really think it depends on what you think you can sustain long term. I personally like eating low-carb for various reasons. I find it cuts my food cravings right off. I'm rarely hungry. I can eat great, real foods like bacon, cheeseburgers, steaks, BBQ chicken and all kinds of vegetables. I also find I get to the end of…

What an amazing difference. You look great.

I also recommend C25K. I'm on it now and I'm up to running 5m and 3m intervals with walking in between.

Hi, male, mid-40s here. 1. Just did W4D2 this morning 2. Feeling great 3. Never had to repeat a day yet, but today was close. That last 5-minuter was not easy, especially since it was all uphill. 4. Never 5. I notice I can run now. Not noticing any body changes yet, but I do feel better than before I started. I sleep…
