  • The PMS thing is an on going saga with my doctor. I've been told there's not much they can do. I had to stop taking the pill a couple of years ago because I developed focal migraines. So that means no pill, no injection, no implant. I can't have the mini pill because it gives me acne. (I've just finished taking a course of…
  • People who don't use a toilet brush ( )...It drives me mad. Especially when I'm at work as I end up cleaning off other peoples' cr4p because I don't want the person after me to think it was me...
  • This sounds great. I was just getting bored of my usual breakfast :)
  • The title is an exaggeration. The article is not suggesting running makes you fat. It's pointing out the mistakes people make during and following exercise which can hinder their progress...it's also the experience of one person who didn't lose weight from running and the research mentioned provides some explanation for…
  • I've been on the Dukan for ages and it's really working for me. The weight has dropped off me (and I didn't have much to lose so I thought it would be difficult). I don't feel hungry at all and I have plenty of energy. I hate calorie counting. For me, it's more what you eat rather than how much of it.
  • Depends on what mood I'm in... If I've got PMT then I hate myself and I feel like ****e. The rest of the time, I reckon I'm ace
  • I think for times like that - pre-prepared stuff is your saviour. And it's not always unhealthy. For example; Uncle Ben's wholegrain rice in microwaveable packs...then you can add grilled chicken breasts which you can buy ready to eat. Or any tinned fish. Just add some veg. You can buy frozen steam packs nowadays which you…
  • Thanks :) I think I'm starting to get used to this myself. I just wondered if there was something I didn't know about! I used to put sauce on everything...which was the problem I guess. Mayo isn't so bad but there is a lot of oil in it which you're supposed to avoid during the first two stages of Dukan aren't you?
  • I'm on Dukan as well. I have 2 tbsp of oatbran, one whole egg and 1 tbsp of non-fat yoghurt. I don't add anything else and just top it with cottage cheese and lean ham. I added it into here and I think it came to about 250 cals...maybe a wee bit more. As long as you don't have cholesterol problems you can eat as many whole…
  • Yakisoba sauce is made with loads of sugar and the noodles are fried in oil so it's not that healthy...Teriyaki, yakitori and curry sauces are also loaded with sugar. The best thing to have is probably the Cha Han as that doesn't have sauce on it.
  • I live in London and I run around the streets - I like it because there are always tons of people around and I always make more of an effort when people are watching :)
  • Where can you buy fat free cheese in the UK?
  • Which BC are you on? See if you can get Yasmin...it's a diuretic as well. I shed lots of water and was really skinny when I was taking that. It's not for everyone though but worth a go.
  • Thanks - I will have a look!
  • Captain is a really low cal option (if you mean the dark rum that is!). Any distilled spirit (80 proof plus) has no carbs so just add a diet mixer or ice and you're laughing...as it were. Have a look at this; http://www.atkins.com/program/fourphases/CarbCounter/Details19/Alcohol.aspx Not entirely sure how accurate it is,…
  • Ibiza anthems. Nothing like envisaging yourself bopping away in a bikini on Salinas beach to get you pegging it round the park quicker :)
  • I am on the Dukan diet at the moment and the weight is dropping off me. Virtually exactly as he describes in the book. If this isn't the case for you then I would give it a miss. It is very restrictive in the beginning so it may be doing you more harm than good. Personally, counting calories does not work for me. I have…
  • I had the same problem - but although I thought I was drinking enough water, I wasn't. Always drink a glass of water before each meal. Also, up your (low-fat) protein. It really fills you up. It may not at first but if you stick with it, your body will get used to it. I keep seafood sticks, non-fat greek yoghurt or cottage…
  • I used to hate cottage cheese but it's the best thing to eat after a work out. I have it savoury; * mixed with a teaspoon of sweetchilli sauce on rice cakes * chopped apple and sweetcorn relish * half a teaspoon of curry powder or lime pickle
  • Hi Shaz, I personally do one day on and one day off. But on my off days I still remain active (walking/cleaning/dancing around my living room). It's important to let your body recover but you shouldn't be completely static (or else you'll stiffen up). I think your regime sounds pretty good at the moment. Maybe do a yoga…
  • Quite interesting. I understand that a lot of women get food cravings when they have PMT but I find that I am literally unable to stomach my usual healthy foods as they make me gag. All I can stomach are carbs, of any variety. I can't even bring myself to eat fruit, veg or meat either. But as soon as my period comes, I'm…
  • I always have porridge oats made up with a teaspoon of Swiss vegetable bouillon powder and boiling water. Sounds weird but try it, I love it! I don't have a sweet tooth at all and I don't particularly like milk. Or on weekend I might have wholegrain toast with marmite.
  • Get a skipping rope - they don't cost much and provide an excellent workout. Try 20 seconds as fast as you can, 10 seconds slow for 4 mins. It's called Tabata method - burns fat faster.
  • Try harissa paste; 1 teaspoon of Harissa 1 clove of garlic 3 teaspoons of olive oil Mix together and spread on your meat before you grill it. Delicious served with brown rice and green vegetables. Enjoy! x
