I know, I'm here for the long haul. I'm down 75 lbs from my SW. I just expected to see some movement the first week back. But I'll take your advice to heart and be more patient.

A lot of the paleo boards have some good recommendations for low sugar/carb options. Put a nut butter in your morning oatmeal, or go for eggs instead, etc. Personally I don't have a problem with unrefined sugars, but if your concerned about it just swap your fruits for more protein instead. I don't think you would need to do it overnight. Just put some good dry rub on it and throw it in the oven with the fat side up for 3-5 hours at about 300 F. Just make sure the pan your are using has sides, as brisket's will produce some juice, either that or use an oven bag.

I would settle on if you could make Veggies smell like a loaf of French bread. I don't even really care about the taste, but darn I can't even go shopping when the bakery is open at my local grocer.....smells sooooo good!!

Compare what you ate today, to what you would have usually eaten at on a dinner out. You're making life long choices here. You can't avoid restaurants forever, but look at how far you have come! My Thanksgiving lunch/dinner was 500 calories, but I am saving room for 2 pieces of pie so +600 for me. I'll still be under calorie for the day (barely), and I don't regret it! Pumpkin pie is my weakness and twice a year treat!

I can tell you what not to eat! Today I went to Panera bread, and thought I would get a light lunch so I just order a side of mac and cheese. Figured it was a bit of a splurge but did not realize how much! 500 calories and 30 grams of fat...for a side!!!! Best of luck with your choices, and always check first!

I edited the original recipe to reflect, that my syrup of choice is the COUNTRY MAPLE not the BREAKFAST MAPLE. The Breakfast one is just too thin, like a lot of the store brands I have tried.

I actually buy it online, it's about $7 a bottle. I wish I knew a store that carried it, one of the people who shared this with me found it in the diabetic section of her grocery store, but so far no luck for me!
