  • Start off doing push ups on a wall or use the bar of the smith machine and set it about waist high. The idea is to gradually lower yourself towards the floor until you can do push ups
  • I use the fitbit. I still track my calories on myfitnesspal and I log them in the fitbit website - I just log one entry for the entire day. I find that's it fairly accurate. I also have a hrm that I use just to monitor my calories burned and heart rate duing my workouts. I love wearing the fitbit - not as fancy as the body…

  • I have a fitbit and I do use to track sleep. However, it only really tells you when you wake up during the night. It doesn't have the capability to chart the sleep stages. I don't think it truly accurate but gives you a picture of how you sleep. I didn't buy it for this - I bought it so that as I move into maintenance, I…

  • Actually, that is all that is needed to calculate your target heart rate. For calculating calorie burn, you need your weight. That is the reason that the polar HRM's ask for that information. This one probably is the kind that you have to put your finger on it to read your heart rate. It is a pain to do that. You could try…

  • Hello and good luck. I had my lapband placed in April 2010. It has been a great tool. It has dimmed my appetite which helps me making better food choices. I have tried every diet known to mankind. I always did well if I was taking an appetite suppressant but as soon as I stopped, the weight would come back on. They are…
  • I had lapband placed in April 2010. I started using this site shortly after my surgery. I was using paper logs before. This is so much easier. I am down a little over 110lbs. I find that logging keeps me accountable. I am within 5lbs of my goal. I will continue to use this tool. I log food, exercise, water. I just recently…
  • I just got a fitbit. It tracks more than just steps. I found a $10.00 off coupon from 24 hr fitmess. I got it for $89.01. So far, it is pretty accurate. I got it to go with my new Heart Rate Monitor - Polar FT40.
  • I just bought a polar ft40 and a fitbit. The fitbit is similar to the bodybugg but much less expensive. It gets great reviews. I wanted both because I am about to go into maintenance so I really wanted to make sure that I am training in the right heart rate zone for fitmess but also wanted to see my calories burned for the…
  • I had a hysterectomy at age 29. I am now 46. While I did gain weight - I cannot blame it on that. I was eating too much and not moving enough. I have gotten really serious about watching what I eat and exercising. I have lost almost 97 lbs this year. I managed to even lose over the holidays while still enjoying in some of…
