Without it asking for your weight, not very accurate. I have a polar FT4 and it asks for height and weight plus age and gender. My calories burned are way different than the machines at the gym even when I enter my weight.0

Not accurate at all. I would return it.0

Unfortunately it's not going to be accurate at all without your weight. My HRM is the Polar FT4 and asks for all those specifics.0

I didn't like the one I got at walmart. I got the oregon scientific se102 from their website. With shipping it came to 48.00. It has a chest strap and the watch. The machines at my gym are cybex and the chest strap sends all my info to the machine. I love it.
Edit. It ask for for your height, weight, age, and activity level.0 -

Actually, that is all that is needed to calculate your target heart rate. For calculating calorie burn, you need your weight. That is the reason that the polar HRM's ask for that information. This one probably is the kind that you have to put your finger on it to read your heart rate. It is a pain to do that. You could try target, they have some new balance HRM with a chest strap that are about $60.00. I think they calculate calorie burn and continously read your heart rate. A low end polar is about $100.00.0

Probably not too accurate without your weight. Weight makes a huge difference. I got a $70 HRM on Amazon for $38.99 and love it.0
