I love my fitbit. I'm pretty obsessed with mine. If I forget to remove it from my pj's in the morning when I get dressed I get stressed. LOL I give it credit for getting me through my plateau. I am now 4lbs away from my goal and couldn't be happier. When I do things like ride my bike or swim I just start the stopwatch and…

I have a trail that I have been walking for about a month and have continued to lose. I wanted a change and wanted more time outside to enjoy nature with my new found weight loss. Im still losing. My trail has lots of hills though. I have a fitbit that really helps me with tracking. I also just bought a new bike and I love…

Has anyone used the Timex Health Tracker? From what it says it will: Walk Sensor will measure steps and distance walked Daily activity tracker with 7 days memory Diet Diary to keep track units or calories of the day Activity mode will display steps, distance and calories burned Workout mode will display time, distance and…

From what I understand you are right about the fitbit but I have heard that the new ones have updated to where you can enter what activities you have done like spinning or weightlifting and get the calories burned during those sessions. If someone has used this could you please tell me how accurate it is.

Great NSV (non-scale victory)! I wouldn't laugh at all.. My first NSV was not struggling to do the (reach around) technique in the bathroom. LOL if ya know what I mean. Little things like that can be bigger victories than the scale because you actually feel the changes in those little achievements. When things used to be a…

You are awesome for this! I have read many posts on this topic and not once have I seen this...Or maybe I have but somehow overlooked it. But I must say that I am on month 4 of my weight loss journey and have lost 32lbs. I am 19lbs away from my current goal and weight loss has really slowed down for me. These posts have…

Working out helps with my cramps too. It also helps with my energy because during that time I feel blah. I also use it as a way to not think about chocolate. LOL

Well I lost some weight in 2010 and was down to 187 or so but then I gained some back and went up to 196lbs. I started using MFP in Dec. and hitting the gym really hard. Since then I have lost 28lbs. Im currently at 168lbs. I do feel great. I have had alot of NSV's but haven't posted them. Like taking a shower and knowing…

Thanks for fixing that and for the compliments. How do I make it smaller? Sorry!

I was wondering if you could take a look at my food diary and let me know what you think of the foods that I am eating and so forth. I had a nutritionist help me with the formula for calories as using MFP had me on a plateau for quite a while. I am currently at 1630 with my activity level already counted in. On some days I…

A heart rate monitor will definitely help but you could be close to accurate on your calories burned. The more you weigh the higher the calories burned will be. But the actual heart rate would be more accurate. I would also suggest taking measurements in many different areas of your body. I will also say that depending on…

In my opinion, there is no magic weight loss pills, but there are pills that will help with energy and curbing appetite. I have been using 1-db Goddess from the Supplement Superstore. They do have the same type for men. I buy it in conjunction with Thyrodrive and the multi-vitamin from the same company. I will say that…

Pizza is one of my biggest downfalls...But yesterday I caved at one of my biggest weaknesses.. I took my daughter and friends to the mall and could not resist the awesome, warm, melt in your mouth Annie Annes pretzels with cheese. But oh my, I have fought it the last 8 times being to the mall so I felt I needed to get rid…

Definitely what the first response said. We would have to know more details. Plus staying within your calories is great but what even better is the type of calories you are eating. Quality vs. quantity is so true with weight loss. You have to make sure you are eating more nutritious meals. The type of food you eat can…

Yeah my doctor always told me exercise would help but the pain I was having made me doubt it. Now I know just how right he was and Im thankful for exercise now. And me taking the time off for 2 weeks was like hitting a reset button on my weightloss. I was on a plateau for what seemed like forever and since my break I've…

Measurements are your best bet. You will lose inches before weight most of the time anyways. Also if you did any strength training then you might be retaining water. Remember to drink lots of water and if you are going to weight then you should weigh first thing in the morning before you eat or do any activities.

When you first start working out and eating right your body is adjusting to the change. The first 4-6 weeks is the endurance phase. After your body builds endurance and gets used to the change then you will start losing. The best formula I have used to find what calories I need to eat is the Harris-Benedict formula. When…

I think this would be great. I am wondering if Almond Milk would taste good in this?

It depends on the person really. Some people can lose consistently and others may have a plateau for a little bit. My first 4 weeks I didn't lose at all but after that I lost rapidly. I hit a plateau for a little while and just recently started losing again. All in all though I have been working out and eating right since…

Just want to say that I made these last night and they were super easy. I made these for me because no one in my family likes red sauce but my fiance saw them and couldn't resist. He really liked them. It sucks because just when I think that I find something that I can keep for myself I get bamboozled! LOL

I think you might have seen HIIT which is high intensity interval training. There are many different ways that you can do these types of exercises. I sometimes incorporate HIIT into my cardio workout where I do 2 min. of moderate pace on a elliptical and then 1 min. of high pace, then cycle it for 10-15 minutes. The idea…

I have been trying to increase the mass in my *kitten* as well LOL! But, lunges, and squats are really bad on my knees. I have had both of my ACL's replaced and have arthritis in them. I can do the leg press and it doesn't hurt so much. Can anyone suggest any other exercises that wont be so hard on my knees that will have…
