  • Couch to 5K. If you are in the UK you can download it for free from the NHS website and put it on your MP3. It's all timed for you, you don't even need to look at your watch. You build up gradually by running a minute, walking a minute and so on. I could barely run a minute during week one without feeling I was dying, now…
  • Well done! You are proof that all this effort really pays off in the end! My main goal is to fit back into the clothes I used to wear. Am not too hung up on what the scales say - my old waistbands will be my judge
  • All of the above! Sleeveless T-shirts in summer without being self-conscious of wobbly upper arms and big boobs. Just being able to fling on some clothes without thinking "I need to wear that to hide THAT....this top is long enough to cover my butt....can't wear that cos it's too tight round there!" etc etc... so tired of…
  • You are all so incredibly inspiring! And this was so great:
  • I agree. It is hard. The only way I can stop snacking is not to have ANY snack stuff in the house. Give yourself a break and just dont buy them, then you won't have to beat yourself up about not stopping at one. Instead you can congratulate yourself for not going down the snack aisle in the supermarket, not buying the…
  • So glad you asked this question, I meant to ask it too. These blogs look great and very inspirational :)
  • Vodka + diet tonic. White wine + lots of glasses of water in between each glass of wine got me through last Friday night!

  • Wow, that's so inspiring that you did 2 5Ks! 33.18 sounds GREAT to me!! I'm finding it hard to run a minute, I hope it gets easier. You are doing so well!!
  • I love this! It's so true. And sometimes even fun (!) working out how much you are in 'credit' and how much you can 'debit' :) I'm cutting down on real shopping while at the same time increasing my weight loss efforts so this is the perfect way for me to 'spend'
  • Hi! I'm Jay and I just did the very first part of Couch 2 5K this morning - in the rain! The rain was actually nice and refreshing - it cooled my bright red face :) I downloaded the NHS (UK) one from the website, it's brilliant for me because the timing and instructions are all part of the podcast. If I had to time myself…
  • Wow, thanks everyone for the replies and advice. I live in the UK where there is such a massive drinking culture and huge pressure to get into rounds in the pub. I'm not even that into drinking any more (well I'm not 20-something any more!!) as I don't like the out-of-control feeling it gives me. I'd rather have a glass of…
  • WooooW! You look great and 5 years younger now, not older! Amazing!
  • My goal weight is 10% less than my total weight. Weightwatchers suggests losing 10% of your body weight as a starting point and that seems reasonable to me (even tho' I'm not doing WW). 10% would take me to the upper end of my healthy BMI, when I get there I'll reassess and aim for another 5 or 10%. Doing it bit-by-bit…
