How did this thread get so derailed and unhelpful for the original poster? I eat very close to paleo, because it woks for me (key word being 'me'). Try taking some foods out of your diet, and reintroducing them, listen to your body and pay attention to how it reacts, and choose from there. Example, it's rommnded that I eat…

Girl, you made it through daunting times late last year, persevered through others' negativity, and you are so successful! Don't let this minor set back set you back. It's not worth what you stand to lose in the long run. Starting to resist or get bored of your workouts? Try something new. Take a fitness class, get…

I'm in agreement with most of the statements. Having just recently moved from an apartment (2nd floor of a 3-story building) to a house, and having dealt with "Roomba Hour" upstairs (the hour every day they ran their Roomba vacuum), we were not very put out by the noise as it was a reasonable time during the day. I agree…

Beautifully said!

Agreed. Our bodies need carbohydrates to live. Ever wonder what vegetables fall under? If you guessed carbohydrates, you guessed right! Could you imagine reducing your veggie intake? How about instead of watching your carbohydrates, you watched your sugar intake instead?

It is really important to understand that when we abuse our bodies using food as we have for so many years, we need to give our bodies a chance to heal. The first 4-6 weeks could simply be your body trying to figure out what to do with the changes metabolically. Chances are, if you were over-consuming calories, or…

I would love to do low carbs! I substitute a lot (spaghetti squash instead of pasta spaghetti, or pita instead of bread, etc), but am running out of ideas FAST! Added!

Multi-grain cheerios and milk.

I think we've all been there. The easiest part to deal with is those irremovable people. They like to dole out the truth? Give them a dose of it themselves, and try to spend as little time as possible with them. Those types of people usually aren't intentionally malicious. Usually letting them know exactly the type of…

I think if you are unable to obtain a balance, and are leaving behind other aspects of your life for this, then there is definitely a problem. Rest days are not a day to sit on one's butt... If you want to go do something active, do it, just don't over-do it. Leave the weights at home. If you are really fit, I don't think…

Welcome! All the best! Weights will help to build the necessary muscle mass needed to sustain a half marathon :). Give it six weeks, and weight lifting will start to feel good, promise! Way to completely turn your life around and back on the right track! I think we've all been there at one point or another, and most of us…

Maybe doing a variation of "Walking, X.X mph", and add "Walking, X.X mph, uphill" for the total amount of time you spend doing stairs? Or just simply put "Walking" and enjoy the results that follow by burning more calories than you had logged :). I personally use a variation because part of my cardio is warming up for…

How about checking out some gluten-free stuff (careful, some are still full of carbs) or looking at some of the weight watchers foods that are sold in stores.

Delicious! I've also scrambled them with the ingredients already in, and they worked out all right (if you like the ingredients warmed up/semi cooked).

I have before. Don't expect them to turn out like regular eggs, but can still be delish. I would recommend not microwaving for more than a minute maximum. Also, check out the recipe book "Hungry Girl: 300 under 300" (some great microwave egg recipes if that's what you're looking for).

Hmm, well that's unfortunate.

Welcome! Fee free to add some of us as friends to help with the support and motivation :). We're doing quite well :). Energy levels (minus my mid-afternoon nap) are through the roof today, woot!

I would as well, but I'd still try and get in the additional 2L of water simply because the green tea is a mild diuretic, and constricts those blood vessels, so get the best of both worlds! On a side note, great for migraines!

My wife and I are doing this together. I started out counting calories, and she found the awesome software for our iPhones, and we track everything together. It definitely makes me more accountable, and because we're doing it together, it's difficult to watch her do it, and not take part, and vice versa. I stay on track…

I'd like to second what Kim said. Vocalize it, make your health a priority, both physical and mental. Where to start? Well, having signed up sounds like a pretty good start to me :). Be mindful of what you put in your mouth, and start doing active things, like choosing the stairs instead of the elevator/escalator, or going…

Welcome back!!! I'm not close, but feel free to add me, I'm up for sharing support!

Hmm... Mean: "Oh, you've lost weight? Hmm.." Annoying: Any comment anyone has made about my weight... because I don't own a mirror, right? Nicest: "Beautiful" which I hear every day from my beautiful wife.

You can DEFINITELY see a MAJOR difference!!! A friend of mine imparted some very important wisdom to me... Don't forget to change your mindset along with your lifestyle ;). You are hardly a "fat blob." You're clearly motivated and successful!!!
