I wear my pants up really high with a belt... hahahahahha! But seriously, I do recommend you have ONE pair of jeans that fits you okay for those moments you want to look extra good. Most shirts still fit me, but i've been lucky to find some stuff to wear out of the box I put away b/c everything was too small.

Touche. It's really easy to detach yourself from the fact that the 6-pack of chicken you're about to buy were once animals. We're pretty sheltered from the industry. I'm down with losing stomach fat.

You're normally a pretty funny dude, but I don't really find animal cruelty anything other than offensive. I'm fine with people eating meat, but being on top of the food chain doesn't give us the right to do what those slaughterhouses do. So easy on the apathy there bud :)

I tried to lose weight on 1200 calories but it made me absolutely starving and crazy. You have absolutely no room for error and this lifestyle isn't for everyone. Don't be so hard on yourself - start smaller. For example, even though I need to lose a good 50 pounds, my ultimate goal weight being 130ish, i have it set to…

Oh, I can eat like no one's business. Seriously. It's kind of sad. With that being said, on thanksgiving (2 days in a row actually to please 2 families) I stuffed myself on both days and only gained about 1/2 a pound. Even if I gained 2 pounds, it's totally worth it. Just gotta go back to normal afterwards, using the new…

Hi Sheila! Welcome to mfp. Weighing yourself at least once a week can help keep your mind focused on the game. I personally weigh myself just about every day to see how foods affect my weight, like water retention and such. You can do it again and make it stick this time!

And make sure it says free range. Cage free isn't the same thing.

I fortunately am self employed and work from home so I'm not tempted every day by holiday cookies. However, when faced with holiday parties, or get-togethers, I indulge a little. It's the only way I can get through it. If I deny myself totally I'm going to jump off the wagon like I did last year. We're making a lifestyle…

In my opinion, its about priorities. Most Americans don't think eating healthy is important. End of story. If they did, they would skip out on those $150 pair of shoes and spend a little extra on the grocery bill. But, sadly, they don't.

I sort of hope this article offends someone. Wake up call!

Everyone loves succotash.

Yikes, take a few days off. Your body may need time to mend. Good luck girly!

I'm with some of these other people. If I go a little over one of them I don't worry too much about it, unless it's fat or sodium. Either one, I try to drink a lot of extra water. I would just be mindful of it, so if you find yourself not losing much weight, you can easily find the culprit. Going over personally hasn't…

I don't know. They are pretty high calorie. I'm not saying they aren't healthy, but if anyone is thinking about eating a million almonds, I wouldn't recommend it.

I don't know if I'd go as far as to call it folklore. Maybe the exact number is just an estimate. If you aren't drinking a ton of alcohol or caffeine, you should really drink water until your urine is clear.

This user is definitely right. 8 ounces (or 1 cup) is not a lot at all. Most glasses are at least 2. Think of it like 4 glasses :)

You could always try a health shake or something, or a breakfast bar.

What about some gormet coffee or tea?

I echo this sentiment. I can still enjoy food and live life while losing weight.

DVDs are a great way to stay motivated, especially when the instructor pushes you on and is encouraging. I do a ton of aerobic yoga, but so much is available, especially if you have netflix. Good luck!

I'm an all or nothing kind of gal. If I'm going to cheat it's 3 pieces of pizza and with fries or something scandalous.

We buy lactaid (or off brand). Husband is super lactose intolerant and this doesn't give him any issues.

My husband has a pretty serious regiment because he also struggles with acne. Currently he's on a treatment but the way he battled it with over the counter stuff is as follows: Face wash - Neutrogena cream cleanser / senstive skin Astringent - Something to minimize pours - clean & clear Moisturizer - Curel for sensitive…

Also very curious myself...

Very interesting guys, thanks for your comments. I don't take any vitamins. Probably a bad thing but I try to get all my nutrients from fresh food. Thanks again!!

My sister is really petite but I feel like she is really supportive of my weight loss and never rubs it in my face. Do you share your struggles/successes with her? does she feel included in your life?

I started off small as well. I started walking for about 20 minutes a day, then I pushed it to 30. Then I picked up the pace. I also do yoga dvds to help with strength training and flexibility. I like anything from Ana Bret.

I'm a knitter but I'm not really that advanced. I make scarves, hats, dish clothes, etc. For me it's pretty therapeutic. What's your favorite thing to make?
-
Couldn't do it. I had to be perfect every day and there was no room for fun. That's just me personally.

Resto druid alliance here. Very jazzed and taking tuesday off to do some playing :)
