I lost 124 lbs in 2002. I was 24 then and weighed 244 at almost 5'3" starting my journey. This year will mark 20 years that I have kept off the majority of it even having two kids since. I have yo-yo'd some (it does get a little harder as you get older), but I have never even come close to getting back up to my highest…

Awareness is as much a part of this journey as everything else. You are making a conscious effort to log in every day and TRY! Keep up the good work!

YES!!! The "big boned" comment for sure! Always used that excuse and now I wear a size 5 ring and have a hard time finding bracelets that stay on because my wrists are so small!

Thanks so much! I haven't really decided yet, but I am thinking a shopping trip may be in order. Haven't really gone a true spree since the initial loss.

To both of you, I have been in your shoes. 5'2", 240lbs. Irregular cycles. My husband and I tried for EIGHT YEARS to get pregnant with no luck. I thought I was dealing with PCOS, although it was undiagnosed. We couldn't afford to pursue fertility treatments, and they were not nearly as advanced 20 years ago as they are now…

Staying below 140 through the holidays in order to celebrate maintaining my 100lb weight loss for 20 years come February. I have had some slips but have managed to keep at least 75 of those 100 off the entire time and always got back down to a more suitable weight for my small 5' 2" frame.

Actually had the opposite happen. Being obese, I was never regular. I would go sometimes 8 to 9 months in between periods. Tried for 8 years to get pregnant. Hit my goal weight in November, got my cycle lined out, and found out I was pregnant in May. That was the ABSOLUTE best part of losing weight. If I hadn't, I might…

AMEN!! I dropped 120 lbs in 9 months using a low carb plan. That was way too fast, and when I got pregnant a few months after reaching my goal and started eating carbs again, I gained back exactly half of that weight, because I went from being far too restrictive to no restriction at all.

Since this thread is really long, this may have been said already, but after losing a LOT of weight it's hilarious and sad how many people will ask you if you're sick or tell others behind your back that you must be using drugs or having an affair. It has been 19 years since I lost an initial 120 lbs (still down about 100…

YES!!! If it is a food that is pretty much all natural fat, I will not replace it. Pre-packaged foods are ok, but peanut butter, butter and cheese are definitely non-replaceable in my book!

Not a good idea...see below from MedicineNet.com...The recommended amount of protein daily for an adult male is only 56 grams, and excess amounts can lead to trouble: The recommended amount of protein consumption is about 10%-35% of your daily calories. Adult women need, on average, 46 grams of protein a day, while adult…

I believe the people who say things like that are jealous or trying to make excuses to themselves about why they haven't been able to achieve the same success you have. At my heaviest, I weighed 240 lbs (I am 5'2"). In a 9 month span I lost 120 lbs doing a low carb diet and exercising my tail end off. I don't know how many…

Regarding the revved up metabolism, that is what I was thinking as well, but wasn't sure.

I don't know the cause, but I find the same thing in myself. Especially if it a high-carb meal.

I don't know about Skype, but have you looked on YouTube? There are a lot of Zumba routines on there to do at home. You can pick the ones you like the best and that are best suited to your skill and intensity level. There are usually several routines for one song. Hope this helps
