  • My favorite is the shakeology chocolate, but since i can't afford it I use the Chocolate Bluebonnet Whey Protein Isolate. The taste is great, super low sugar, not much junk in it(only 5 ingredients) and has a lot of protein per serving.
  • My friend at work had that same problem. About 4 years ago she lost the weight and then as a reward, had the skin removed. She is pleased with the results since she had had the skin for so long. She is now in her mid-fifties. Not sure what to do besides surgery. She told me she tried everything. She loves the sunshine and…
  • Going to try them! Thanks for posting!!!! I made the worst Paleo Almond pancakes ever a couple of weeks ago. Uck...ate them anyway.
  • I like Caveman Dark Chocolate Cherry Nut 190 cal, nut protein only, but paleo friendly and they taste good.
  • I would add in some fruits and maybe not so much green veggies right off the bat. Broccoli and asparagus can do a number on you if you aren't careful. Bananas, apples, and don't worry too much about the sugar. These are not processed sugars. Also, did you start this cold turkey or ease in? If you started cold turkey, you…
  • I am glad I am not the only one! I have just eaten the worst ever lunch - chili cheese fries and a big green burrito... uck! I mean, yum! but dang what a horrible thing to eat! I gotta get back on track too. Already over on my calories today too. could it get any worse?
  • Snacks- cuties, celery with almond butter (maybe a little honey mixed in), honey patties(yum), homemade trail mix (enjoy life chocolate chips, unsweetened coconut, pecans, unsweetened raisins or dried chopped plums, and sometimes sunflower seeds. made the mistake of adding pumpkin seeds - don't do it!), baby carrots,…
  • I always hid food. I had two little sisters growing up and if I left anything in the kitchen, they would eat it. So up until this year (yes I am 37), I have had chocolates hidden in my house. Before I really got serious with my health, I would get food through the drive through, I would eat a couple of tacos or burritos…
  • I work for city government in Texas. We get an "Appreciation Breakfast" (politically correct) where everyone gets a certificate of appreciation for our year of service, and we get a longevity check before Thanksgiving (about $300 this year). Not too bad. When I worked for a mortgage company back in the good old days, I did…
  • Feel free to add me too. I did paleo for 30 days straight and now I try to stay above 85% per doctor's orders to prevent diabetes. I love to bake and I have been using agave nectar and honey for sweeteners, along with almond flour and coconut flour. I definitely feel better. It is difficult to let people know that you have…
  • I consider my daughter an "athlete" and like tharrop says, she does not have the discipline to do anything outside of scheduled practices to improve her game. On the other hand, I consider myself an "exerciser", not an athlete. I do get up before work 3 days a week to work out. I work out at lunch 3-5 days a week. And…
  • I had my metabolic resting rate measured one time while regularly using caffeine and the other time without using caffeine. There was no difference in my resting rate. I don't drink caffeine anymore. Not because of that, but because the diet sodas made me feel bad. Especially during cardio workouts.
  • garlic cloves (a little harsh though) lemon juice?
  • YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just started Paleo since recommended by my doctor. I am never in the kitchen trolling for food! It is great! I am not constantly thinking of when I can eat next, what am I going to eat, etc.
  • I have switched to paleo for the last week for health issues as well. I am trying to eat back most of my exercise calories but find that I am not that hungry. I have lost 6 lbs in one week. Before this change in diet, I was gaining every weekend and slowly losing some of it during the week while staying in calorie range. I…
  • Truly amazing work you have done! None of us have any excuse not to kick *kitten*! Thank you for sharing this...I am just blown away by the kickin *kitten* new person that emerged!
  • I have been an off and on caffeine drinker for years. Two years ago (maybe more) I completely cut it out. I hate the headaches the next day and I feel really bad after and during my workouts. I feel amazing now! My husband still drinks coffee and one soda a day - and I have way more energy than he does! I save a ton of…
  • I have found that I have more energy for my kids and my household when I take care of me!
  • I make them with blueberries and chopped walnuts ( and of course a little cinnamon!), so yummy!
  • I live in Texas, but people ask me where I was born - Kansas. I get the "Dorothy-toto" thing too.
  • YES, this! Are you from the South too?
  • My husband used to say stuff to me too. Eventually he stopped saying anything about what I eat because I lost the weight and he is still struggling. I did it for me and that is what you need to do too!
  • I think a personal trainer to look over what you are currently doing and maybe coming up with a plan of action would be a good investment. It sometimes takes another view to see what you need.
  • It depends on if you leave yourself some room for extra calories AND what your other calories are that you eat each day. Say you eat 2000 calories of junk food, then try to eat a load of veggies on top of that, you are going over the 2000 calories. Veggies are very low in calories and I log them with a "cup" measurement to…
  • bump, I would love to know too!
  • If I know that there will be food at the office, I try to eat a small healthy breakfast and/or small lunch. Then I can have a bit of the goodies without too much guilt. Of course I log it all! Also depends on where you are in your goals. If you are in motivation mode and you are hard core, then I would flat refuse it (I…
  • I think that this was true for me too! When I gain, it goes right to my hips/thighs and I can feel it in my jeans. Argh! But, I have gone from a size 14 to a 4/6, so it can be done. I still feel like it is there, but the clothes size talks.
  • My motivation is food. I love to eat, but since my metabolism is sooooo slow, I have to exercise to get any real meals--- or I should say "fill me up" meals. That said, once you start exersising more than 3 times a week, it becomes an obsession. To get motivated, I have friends that I walk/run/workout with. Sometimes you…
  • Love pump and combat! Used to do the classes three times a week, but I have been so busy with kids end of school, so it's been about once a week. Can't wait to get back!
