  • This is not something to be jealous of, it is not as if a woman 4 days postpartum is allowed to diet or exercise. I didn't care what I looked like for about a month, I was more concerned about the ability to climb stairs to my bedroom. The only issue that I have with this trend is that women are being shamed into trying to…
  • I'm 5'8 and am hovering around 165. My goal is 155 but feel great where I am. It is more important to me to have a weekly exercise goal (I try for 4 days a week) and stay this weight than to lose weight at this point.
  • Sounds like a great idea! I have found that when I don't eat out for the holidays, it is easier to control my weight. Eating out does me in... I have been taking advantage of the summer to exercise, so I'm in!
  • I was what you call an "obese baby" I was 30 lbs by a year- breast fed, and fed healthy food. I ended up in a totally normal range later as a child as soon as I started being active. My daughter has been in 95% for her first 18 months. She is tall and big and we are strict about candy, cake, white flour/sugar. She has…
  • I went from 190 to 165 and am happy with my weight (it put me into a normal BMI range) as soon as I hit that I realized that my baby belly has not gone away, and I had extra in all the wrong places. I started going to yoga last year and although I have not shed a pound, I look totally different. I am still not where I want…
  • Change by creating a routine for yourself. The same way you brush your teeth, wash your face, etc, every morning, do some exercise every day. Find a couple basic things that you can do every day like pushups, 15 min video, crunches, whatever you enjoy, and feel good when you are done. For me, classes work better than doing…
  • I like doing classes, and I like the heat in the room. I am just looking for feedback since Yelp doesn't have too many comments on either.
  • I was over 190 at my highest, and am now fluctuating between 160-165. I have been stable for over a year, no sweat. If it is a LIFE change then you can do it. If it is a flash diet with unrealistic eating habits, then you will gain it back. Good luck!
  • Before I exercise in the morning I have a fruit, usually an apple or a banana. Otherwise I feel dizzy or unable to work out as hard.
  • Good Omens is a great book! My h got me to read it last year, and I really enjoyed it. Never heard of Walden Farms, is it any good?
  • I do yoga two to four times a week to maintain. In the summers, I walk about 30 minutes daily to lose.
  • I work as a teacher, and the snacks during break can be a killer! I always bring something healthy from home, and rarely indulge in whatever is on the table. Add me if you want :)
  • The way I did it when mine was that age: I would put her in a swing, and have her watch me do zumba. She loved the music and was highly entertained by seeing me shake it! Good luck!
  • We had a nice fig and date snack :) even my baby girl enjoyed it!
  • Add me :) Always looking for more support!
  • After losing the weight I wanted to, I am maintaining- feel free to friend me! I need someone to keep track of me too ;)
  • Eat when you are hungry, make wise food choices, and exercise. Remember that what you eat/how you eat can affect your milk supply.
  • I agree with all of the above posters, go speak to a competent orthadox rabbi. I know many converts that are happy with their choice in life, and many who did not go through with it when they found out what the life of a convert entails. I wish you luck on your journey.
  • I love yoga! I have been going for a month, twice a week, and can feel the difference. My metabolism has gotten faster, and I am much stronger. Feel free to add me, I would love to have more yoga-friendly friends.
  • I have a 1.5 year old daughter, and work as a teacher in the afternoons. I spend a lot of time grading essays and making lesson plans. Over the last year I have started eating better and doing exercise minimum twice a week. Feel free to add me!
  • Any time that I have lost weight successfully (going from 191 to 179, and then two years later 179-165) I did it through walking and controlling calorie intake. It absolutely works! Good luck on your weight loss goal :) It is all about sticking to one form of movement that you love and allowing your body to be healthy.
  • Can't wait to try this!
  • You can make chicken and rice in the crockpot. Another idea is to make sushi :) I'll probably be sticking with the former.
