Sounds like metabolic damage. It takes a long time to heal, but luckily you don't have to get fat from the "healing" like people claim. Just up your calories eating mostly fruits and veggies, 3000 Calories a day, 80% carbs, 10% fats, 10% protein. Don't forget carbs, did I say 80%?? yes! And don't mix sugar with your fats,…

Eat less protein! 10% max

WOW I just googled this question, and apparently, its a very common situation. Lots of bodybuilders who are cutting ask this, and describe the same burning sensation. I think what it comes down to, is that hunger may be unavoidable...whether you're pumping more insulin, burning fat, or involving other mechanisms like…

BEST THING EVER! I hate unscrewing lids! This is one handed operation, and I literally just toss it back in my purse.

Oh man, SOOO tempted to post a picture of myself here...my "skinny" body is the result of sugary malnutrition and it will not lose any more. But if you think flabby cellulite is sexy then go for it.

I've had your same question for the past 3 years on MFP. I used to get so irritated by people who said "fruit is sugar...sugar is sugar, doesn't matter, cut it out" But I've been looking into evolutionary/alternative approaches toward health (not government funded weight loss crap haha) and it's interesting what they…

don't know if you're saying that toward me or in general. i have higher testosterone because of cysts on my ovaries. no steroids here.

You know what, I have to agree! I live in a liberal city where Honda Civics, Priuses, and Smartcars are most common, and anything larger than a 4-runner are tourists. Every time I go back to my home town, I notice the trucks are filling up more and more of the road (both in popularity AND size). I actually drive 5 miles…

Plain greek yogurt for sure...I personally keep my breakfasts low calorie, so 65 calories of this and i'm good. I do best having tuna for breakfast. It keeps me mentally sharp and not hungry til lunch.

My family drastically reduced their sodium intake by shopping at Trader Joes and getting all their low sodium alternatives. They have a lot to choose from. You eventually get used to it. Sadly, all soup is going to have lots of sodium, but actually I've found the low sodium soups to be good if you can add your own chili…

I just want to say, BCP are not the only option. When I look back at my birth control days I continued to stay "puffy" and could not lose weight past 167 (diagnosed at 175). My skin looked great though! (HA!) I don't know how advanced your PCOS is, but I stopped taking BCP despite everyone's advice. My periods went back to…

Wellbutrin is amazing for weight loss. Well, it slightly speeds up your metabolism, but really, it makes you more active and more OCD about following your goals. I joined MFP 3 weeks after starting Wellbutrin. I was eating a second slice of pizza at 11am and said, "Hey I'm going to try and lose weight..." that was the…

It's said to be about 25g a day or something very small. For reference, this is 1.5 tablespoons. But then there's this debate...does fruit count as sugar? It is sugar, its just not added sugar, but some argue our body doesn't know the difference. It's said that when you go back to our ancestors, it was rare to come across…

Something people don't realize is that Aspartame comes from GMO corn, which in itself has been linked to cancer. So taking GMO corn and making an overprocessed sweetener that somehow "tricks" our body? I don't see how that is good at all! Since I've stopped drinking diet soda, I get itchy whenever I go back! Truly. Then…

Starting at 5'8" 170, every 5 was a pant size. As far as dress sizes go, maybe its similar?

I don't usually run on an incline, but I did today and it wasn't bad. Warm up 5.3 mph, then vary between 6-7 mph, short sprints of 8.5-9 mph--I sound like I'm breaking the machine haha. But I definitely had to work up to this since March. Used to get so winded just at 5.5 mph

Chicken fajitas! yumm!!!!

I do not agree with 100 calorie packs. They are (usually) empty calories, and have all sorts of preservatives. Okay for when you want to treat yourself, not okay for half-minded snacking. Now this is going to sound contradictory, but I LOVE dried cranberries. I like raisins too, but *cranberries* seem to give me an extra…

Everyone has really great points. I think listening to your own body is what's best, though I am closer to team 'Eat 'Em Back' What about the intensity of your exercise? Mind you, I'm "skinny" but the principle is still the same. Running versus walking for example, we walk all the time, our body considers it very close to…

So this is for vanilla protein powder, but I'm sure chocolate would be good as well! Protein Pancakes 1 scoop protein powder 1/2 banana 2 egg whites 2 tbsp milk 1/4 cup oatmeal spoonful of cottage cheese (if you dare!) 1 tsp cinnamon handful of blueberries (i like to add stevia!) Mash your banana in a bowl, add egg whites,…

Sorry, these aren't homemade, but I do have to say I LOVE "Maria and Ricardo's" whole wheat tortillas. They are totally unlike other wheat tortillas, and have the right texture and everything. I used to be very hesitant about wheat tortillas until these. I get them at Whole Foods. Anyway, its good to cut out white carbs…

I'm sure it has to do with fiber as you are sensing as well. If you're curious in an eastern approach (I've been more interested in this lately) You may want to check out Ayurveda, or "the science of life". It's from India and goes hand in hand with yoga. Sounds to me you would be considered a "Vata" body constitution.…

These questions depend upon which kind of protein powder you are using as they all have different absorption rates. I strongly recommend you find something other than whey or soy. It's been found that soy is actually toxic to our bodies and we are over-consuming...and whey is not the best either. If you can, get a rice…

I'm sure people think the same for me. At my work, we all have break at the same time, and most people are eating their breakfast. I eat breakfast before I leave and either have 1/2 cup yogurt, or 1/2 cup beans, or even just some cold water. One time I brought burrito leftovers and people were all over it like "Wow you're…

I honestly believe sugar is the lesser of the two evils. Purchase raw sugar in bulk, its under a dollar a pound where I shop...otherwise it can be expensive. Splenda is bad! Okay okay, you've heard this before...but honestly! Here is information from the Splenda website --The sugar comes from CORN (not sugar cane!) --It is…

This is *definitely* a government issue. Its good to limit kids options to only healthy ones, but I'm scared when they don't allow kids to bring their own lunch without a doctors note. Meanwhile they are forcing these terrible GMO's and toxins as their only option. I had to cut down my own political rant. But I'm surprised…

I totally agree! I don't think a taco salad with corn chips and a baked potato is considered "eating healthy" I think they care more about saving money and having it look like a balanced meal according to the food pyramid...... You know the schools (government) are going to be all about GMO's and corn...saves them money…

If anyone gets this far...haha! Greek Yogurt - 0% Fage Milk - 2% Reduced Fat Trader Joe's Black Beans

I agree to the common response to make a lot and save leftovers. Just an additional point, that when you are making multiple dishes at once, you are actually saving time. (Chopping up a second onion while still in the mode, starting another dish while waiting on the other to boil, doing a wash all together, etc) i! ts…

I've been having the same problem. I do HIIT with the treadmill or outside for 30-45 minutes. Apparently by having the fast sprints and allowing your body to recover every so often, its more effective for fat loss. But I've also heard from some alternative health experts that people are not meant for running on a routine…
