I'm in London, feel free to add me.

I'm also a vegetarian and spent three months on an exclusion diet about ten years ago...no tea, coffee, wheat, dairy or yeast. Take out meat and fish and it didn't leave me with much! I had to stop eating so many processed foods, my sugar intake dropped dramatically, I didn't exercise much and I didn't need to lose weight.…

What a difference! Well done :)

Welcome, you've made a great start in joining here! Hope your weight loss journey goes well.

My advice would be to stop snacking, eat real, unprocessed food and go low carb some days. You can still have your beers and meals out once a week (life should be enjoyable, after all!) but frozen meals are not nutritious enough for long term eating. My weight loss is most effective when I don't eat between meals and I…

I met my partner online just over a year ago. We tell people how we met if they ask us...we always look totally loved up when we are together so people can usually tell that we haven't spent 20 years together already, lol (we are in our 40s). But you know what, I have met the person who truly is my 'other half' even though…

Not very, hence my username!

I'm just eating real food, it doesn't have a name! So today was my first low carb day and I am miles under my calories, while not at all hungry. I don't know how to boost protein intake as a vegetarian, low-carber that doesn't involve protein powder (will not go there!)

It's not only about calorie deficit...search 'Zoe Harcombe' and you will find out a lot about calories in/calories out and how to eat well and lose weight.

I'd like to change my goals but have no idea what to change them to! What amount of carbs do you suggest?

This has happened to me before, I've had cycles between 18 and 35 days with no obvious reason why it would suddenly vary so much. I wouldn't worry too much, the flow will start and probably next month things will go back to normal. My average is about 26 days and it's usually normal. I don't think there's any link between…

Do you think you have much left to lose? Between September and now I have lost 6lbs but am only aiming for 14lbs altogether. As long as the overall trend is downwards, I don't mind if it takes months. It's normal for loss to slow down as you reach your natural weight, I think.
-
Sounds like you've taken the advice on board. Glad to hear that there are no health issues acting as a barrier to your weight loss. This is a bit controversial but I don't think calorie counting is the be all and end all of weight loss...I've lost 6lbs in three months but achieved the same in three weeks when I followed an…

Plenty...search for groups and join up!

I think if it was that rigid Jillian would say so in her intro. She didn't!
-
How much do you need to lose? I've lost 2.5kg over almost three months...it's painfully slow but it's in the right direction and the overall trend is what matters. I only planned to lose about 14lbs/6kg in total.

rtell, hope you're feeling better soon. I can't walk to work every day because 4 days a week I drop my daughter at school first. There is rarely enough time to do that and walk the remaining mile, so I walk with her then get the bus from her school. Once a week she is at her dad's overnight so I can walk then as I can go…

10 miles a week? That seems quite ambitious right now! Good idea though... If I walk to work I don't know how far it is but it takes me just over 20 mins. I can't walk to work every day though. Not a swimming fan so will give that one a miss. Could do some Wii Fit instead?

Sounds a bit like me...my weight loss is so gradual even when I do everything right that it doesn't seem worth being really strict with myself! Work has been manic and things should ease off now. I just aim to talk myself back into it. Could do with another challenge - one month til Christmas, what could we do? The 30DS…

I drink herbal tea, no 'normal' tea or coffee, and I always count it as water. I also count sugar free squash on the rare occasions that I drink it, but not juice or milk.
-
I had homemade quorn korma with tons of veggies. Good job I enjoyed it as I have two more portions in the freezer!
-
Bexsy, well done on your weight loss - 4lbs is amazing! (i.e. it's taken me six weeks to lose that)
-
I don't think I'd miss anything...now and again I get odd cravings like strawberry yogurt or fresh mango! I adore peanut m&ms but I know they are a really bad idea!
-
I did the whole food intolerance thing about 10 years ago...saw a nutritionist and was put on a total exclusion diet. That meant no wheat, dairy, sugar, yeast, tea, coffee, alcohol...and I was already vegetarian!! I did this for three months (somehow) and I lost 7lbs without trying, mostly cos eating was such a challenge!…

Ahem...it was me!!!

Well done febes...no dark choc here so there must be another reason mine takes so long to shift!

I'm in Hounslow.
