How can you do LCHF when you are vegetarian...
and you are allergic to eggs and soya?!

Garmin Connect+ buddies?
Anyone like to become my friend on there? My username was taken so I'm lilacjames on the site instead of snailrunner. I'm a regular runner, doing a weekly parkrun now (PB last Sat was 27:15, which I'm really pleased with) and run for enjoyment rather than having specific time/distance/event goals. Hope to hear from you to…

Cutting back on sugar - weird new foods instead?
I've read Sarah Wilson's 'I Quit Sugar'. Does anyone who has reduced their sugar intake think you need to buy chia seeds and coconut in a myriad different forms? Or can I just stop eating processed foods?

25lbs down and 10.5 miles up!
In February I reached my highest ever weight, apart from during pregnancy. After pregnancy, I always managed to get back to where I'd started from and the kids are in their teens now so I can't use them as an excuse! I did little exercise and ate too much of the wrong things, it's that simple. I discovered 5:2, watched the…

What is wrong with my foot?
I'm a runner, shoes are quite new and cushioned. My right ankle is sore, but only mildly so and I've continued to run. Most of the time I can't feel any soreness at all, but sometimes the area above my heel is tender on the back of my leg only. If I point and straighten my foot, I can feel the muscle moving and it doesn't…

Giving up sugar before my teeth fall out
I have a long history of eating high-sugar foods, my weight isn't too bad (about 10lbs over at present) but my teeth are paying the price. I need over £500 of work done on just two teeth. It's time to stop ruining my health. Any advice/support/experiences welcome!

Food diary...what are these numbers?
I have a heading for calories, and others for protein, fat and carbohydrate. I know the calories number is the number of calories, but protein, fat and carbohydrate are not a unit of measurement....so what are those numbers?

Fed up with spots on my chin...suggestions?
I'm way too old for teenage acne, but I am particularly prone to breakouts on my chin. They tend to flare up in relation to my monthly cycle, but I had that 10 days ago and today they are even worse than they were then! I'd love to know how to keep them at bay.

Encouragement for those with less to lose
Since I joined MFP in Sept 2011 I have: lost 10lbs lost 4cm from my waist lost 5cm from my hips lost 1.5cm from my upper arms lost 5cm from my thighs got back into running, have run 5km and now working on 10km I can now wear my UK size 10 clothes comfortably again and the size 12s I had started to buy have gone to the…

Do your siblings share your body type?
My sister and I are both in our 40s, are the same height and have had two children each. She is a UK size 24-26 and has been for many years. She has joint problems due to being so overweight. I think her boobs probably weigh 10lbs each. By contrast, at age 18 I was a UK size 6-8 and even now am only size 10, heading back…

vegetarian low carb, high protein?
Just got back into low carb eating but I'm not sure how to boost my protein intake. I will not use protein powders, bars etc as I am trying not to eat processed food. Any ideas? I'd rather be healthy than skinny!

A new year challenge?
Anyone doing one I can join in with? Only 5lbs left to lose so don't need anything long term (hopefully!) or with a significant weight loss goal. I'd like to get back into running and have my own (underused) treadmill. I also ordered Ripped in 30 DVD today - it's finally available in the UK, hooray!

HRM without a chest strap?
Is there one...or, more importantly, is there an effective one? I have a bony ribcage and can't bear to wear an underwired bra so there is no way I'd tolerate a chest strap for longer than a few minutes. Also, I like the idea of wearing it when I'm being active eg when I walk to work, not just for the gym. Any suggestions?

Welcome!
Nothing can ever replace mumsnet, but I hope this will be a useful way of communicating with each other on MFP :)

Keep losing the same couple of pounds
Summer 2010 I was 124lbs. Right now I'm 133 but when I joined MFP I was 137lbs. it isn't a lot to lose and I know many say a small amount is harder to lose. There will also be people reading this who wonder why I'm on here at all. My objectives are to track my weight, eat healthily, exercise more, tone up and stay in…

30DS questions
1) What size handweights do you use? Mine are 2kg and some exercises are fine (still on L1) but some feel almost impossible! 2) What category do you use to log your exercise in the diary? Thanks!

Hi, i'm new
I just joined and have about 6kg to lose. I've gone up a dress size and want to get things back under control. I used to run regularly but since my running buddy moved away last year I've really let things slide. I hope this site will improve my motivation to make the right food choices and get my running shoes on more…
