I don't eat anything before an early run, but if it's going to be 5 miles or longer I take hydrated chia seeds for fuel along the run. They are very bland and don't upset my stomach. I do 2 Tbl chia seeds per 8 oz water and it forms a gel.

I have my favorites for breakfast and lunch so I know those in advance. Generally, just snacks and dinner are decided daily but early on in the day.

The only way I've been able to get up early consistently is to put all my running gear in my bathroom the night before, put my alarm in the bathroom , and when it goes off in the morning I go into the bathroom and turn on the light.
