  • If you can shoot Jaegermeister, might I suggest a lovely Austrian rum Strohs 80. Stuff is 160 proof and if that doesn't do it, it wasn't meant to be :drinker:
  • I do my own as well. First, I went to a salon for help choosing color and got tips on techniques. I get my supplies at an actual beauty supply shop so I am using the same stuff the pros are using. Got lots of help from the staff there as well! Long story short, I get a consistent color, can touch up as needed for a…
  • I know this is an inactive topic, but I was excited to see another headed to Deutschland for July! I am leaving on 30. June and will be there for the month. Hubs is staying here in the States  Don't know where you will be but I am headed to the Pfaelzerwald, coming out only long enough to visit museums in Berlin and…
  • Weather in Munich rides a roller coaster any month of the year LOL Layers, definitely wear layers!
  • I have been craving Eggo waffles, we are talking pregnancy-level craving, as in I can smell them and there are not even any in the house! Since this is a food item I generally consider to be garbage food, it is not only dangerous but weird! I wants me so Eggos!!
  • What are stronglift 5x5? Sounds interesting...
  • Fleissig? Leider nicht aber ich halte die immer in Auge. :flowerforyou:
  • Thanks!! What's this about nicotine gum? I'm getting curiouser and curiouser...
  • I know this is an old thread but my internet has been down for a while so I am ODing LOL Update... we got a new principal at my school and he had such a simple solution to my citrus allergy predicament that I am ashamed to have thought of it myself. Have the cafeteria workers slice the oranges into wedges before serving.…
  • We have quite the group of like-minded lushes at the high school where I teach and we enjoy hitting the local Mexican for whiskey and coke after we get off on Fridays. I really need to work harder to earn those extra calories instead of just blowing them off as stress relief. My other goal is to make my way back over to…
  • Having face-planted on a treadmill IN PUBLIC, I share your pain. My experience... yes, you should be working towards freeing your hands from the rails, but at your pace! Safety first! ... yes, moving your arms will make a difference. We do this naturally when walking anyway and it will help on the treadmill. Besides, move…
  • YOU are my inspiration! I will be 50 this coming November and did a 1/2 mary in 2:47. Not especially impressive since I can walk the entire distance:sad: in under 4.
  • I agree with "back off" and hold to never giving up. This applies to every aspect of life where we have set goals for ourselves. Assuming these goals were realistic in the first place, and completing a 1/2 marathon is realistic for all but a few, we may have to drop back and regroup then continue on in pursuit of a goal.
  • I see a lot of praise for the Foreman grill posted here. I've used them and they are okay for what they are designed to do. HOWEVER, for the money spent on successive models when each one quit working as it was supposed to (remember, six kids means a lot of teenager stomachs have passed through my kitchen...) I found the…
  • I'm not the OP but I have the same issue... constantly feeling like I am starving and it is belly-growling hunger! I just wanted to thank you for such a helpful post! :flowerforyou:
  • Since adopting the orange and white, he has brought home a gray tabby and now has a solid white, save a gray smudge between his ears. Oddly enough, all three kittens were boys... :noway:
  • I hear you! I have an old, blind, somewhat disgruntled Newfoundland dog, 65 k, who thinks she must be within 6 inches of me at all times. Getting out of bed to pee at night gets rather interesting sometimes. It was really fun when she was younger and I had a treadmill set up in the living room. She would do her best to…
  • Try feeding her yoghurt. Helped with our old dog Mikey. Nothing like beer farts from a 15yo Lab/Pit mix!
  • I have an old beat-up gray tomcat that steals kittens from other people's houses and brings them home as his "pets" or something. This is the cat on my ticker with one of his kittens. I haven't decided if he is just a sweet old cat or if he is a feline pedophile!
  • I agree with the above statement oh so very much! But still, you have to admit... that family loves each other unconditionally... :drinker:
  • What movie is this from?
  • Which goes to show, I never scroll to the bottom LOL I just look to see where he rode and since I am familiar with the area, I don't really linger. I just stare in awe and wish I could go that fast  So, is it agreed then that a heavier rider can conceivably burn 1500 calories in 90 minutes? :flowerforyou:
  • What measure/website is he using? I don't recognize the format. And yeah, I never understood why tougher hills do not register as much on calorie burn. I get the same thing when I use Runkeeper for hiking. (A four mile hike while carrying a 25lb pack on backcountry terrain with some pretty dicey slopes supposedly burns no…
  • I use Runkeeper, MFP, a HRM, and a basic formula of .3 x # miles x body weight in lbs, then find the average of the four and round down. Still not totally accurate, I'm sure, but the four separate counts rarely differ by more than 150, so I go with it. I am also considering only road riding, as I do not like mountain…
  • There is a wonderful difference between the two pics, and I am so glad the weight loss only accentuated your beautiful, beaming smile! My current profile picture is about the only one in existence that I willingly posed for! I still don't like it, but it does show the difference between now and my highest weight ever (a…
  • Height 5'8" HW 305-310 lbs (scales would go back and forth over the course of a week) I weighed less at full term pregnancies! all-time LW 137 lbs and I looked and felt like someone escaped from a cancer ward! currently tipping scales at 190, having tweaked my macros to get the ball rolling in the right direction again…
  • I love your hair in the after pic! Fun and flattering!
  • I tool along at an easy 17 mph for 90 minutes, that is 1400ish calories. (I say -ish because no measurement will be totally accurate unless done under laboratory conditions.) If I ramp it up just a bit on the speed, say 19 mph, the burn goes up to a little over 1500. 1500 is doable in 90 minutes depending on speed, rider's…
  • My husband commutes an hour one direction to get to his job and I 45 minutes to get to mine. Together, we spend some 400$US each month just to get the paychecks. I pick up a coworker along the way so mine is not so painful when it is time to fill the tank. His coworkers refuse to carpool under any circumstances... they see…
