Your "dirty liar" analogy helped me so much. Thank you!

Therapist answer: I would want to rule out a medical condition first. Then I would wonder about the family dynamics, as generally eating disorders are a family issue. Finally, I wonder if the little girl has gone through some type of serious trauma that makes her want to hide from the world. Personal answer: I feel for…

Not sure exactly, but I think you could count that as heavy/vigorous cleaning. Maybe that would be close.

Awesome! That must have felt amazing!

Red velvet or coconut for sure.

That sounds grueling! I'm sorry you have to go through that. I hope you and your family stay safe.

Yes! Bump! This has totally happened to me. It's hard because I feel better about myself already, even though I'm only 1/3 of the way to my goal. It's difficult to remember that I'll feel even better as I approach my goal. I sometimes have to remind myself that 'I deserve to be fit and healthy'. I don't have the answer,…

After a month of plateau, the weight is finally dropping. Month 1- lost 10lbs, month 2- lost 0lbs, month 3- lost 5lbs (mostly in the past week). I've been doing the same thing the entire time. Sometimes the body just doesn't make sense.

Well, I did my one day meat free. I felt pretty good that day. I just noticed that I went for more carbs, when I should have gone for more meat free proteins such as beans, quinoa, and dark leafy greens. But, I lost a lot of weight this week, so maybe that contributed to that. I will definitely do at least one meat free…

Wow! I can't believe how fast people are losing. I have a respiratory condition that causes fatigue and limits my heavy cardio. So I'm stuck with moderate exercises like walking, biking, and yoga (no Insanity for me). If healthy long term wight loss is 1-2lbs/week, then I'd expect it to take 15-30 weeks depending on how…

My Weight Watchers iPhone app recommends rum&diet coke, screwdriver, mojito w/ club soda, or bloody mary. All are low calories and some even have nutritional value :) For beer, Michelob Ultra is good.

Great topic! Bump! I try to praise whatever progress I see. I agree with the others that sometimes when people first start out, just stopping before the calorie limit is a huge victory. In behavior modification, praising closer and closer approximations to the desired behavior is called 'Shaping'. But there are definitely…

One day I drank a protein shake and I ended up looking seven months pregnant. Turns out I'm intolerant to soy. I experimented a little more and found the same effect with peanuts and other legumes, but soy is the worst.

I'm in! As I eliminate unhealthy habits, I'd like to introduce healthy habits to replace them. About a week ago I gave up my daily diet soda, and replaced it with tons more water. This week I'm starting to take Omega 3-6-9 to lower my cholesterol. I need to think about what other new habits I want to add in, but I have a…

You look incredible!!! All your hard work is sooooo paying off! Hey, look, we both made it well into the 170s. I remember when that was only a dream. =) 160s here we come!!!!

Thank you for the feedback everyone. I will try those ideas.

I'm 5'6" too. I checked the BMI calculator and it gave a broad "Healthy BMI" range from about 115-155. I'm aiming for 145 because that's when I'm a size 8 and I like to still have some curves.

I second that. Two at once is the best I've been able to do so far. Bump!
