  • Second time on low carbs, first time I lost weight very fast .. Regained it because I ended up with a Thyroid problem. I am now back on it and on Thyroid meds and I am losing again.. about 6-7 lbs in 3 weeks and I'm 148 lbs now.. IT works and really decreases your appetite.. For me I find it very easy.. I love meat more…
  • I feel like that when I drink too. I have no problem controlling my appetite but I love to relax with a beer or a drink. I'm a chronic weigher. Some days it affects my weight others it doesnt. I lost 25 lbs a year and a half ago doing low carb and I was literally having 4-5 beer about 4-5 times a week and lost no problem…
  • I can't lose weight at all just cutting calories, I have to cut carbs to about 25 grams a day. But a lot of people you should balance all 3.. I wish I could be I'm not one of those people
  • Your body is switching from burning carbs for energy to burning fat.. It is totally normal to feel like you have no appetite and low energy.. It will subside once your body gets use to the switch.
  • oh the grammar police is in the house!!!!!!
  • Totally Agree!!
  • LOL 've actually noticed that lately with people getting hateful about repeatitve questions..
  • Karen I lost 25 lbs and gained it back after about 6 months.. I too was terrified of the scale and wished I would have gotten on it earlier because I didnt even realize how much I had gained back until I got on it. Just take one day at a time and keep tracking. You are dealing with a lot. And as for the rude hateful…
  • Are your T4 levels normal now with meds.? I have hypothyroidism and had my synthroid increased 4 times. I lose max 7lbs and cant lose anymore. But my meds are still too low.. Once you are on the right dose, your metabolism should be normal. It takes some people(me unfortunately) a long time to return to normal. Good Luck
  • I was diagnosed in Sept with Hypo. I started on a low dose of Synthroid and had it increased 4 times since then. Its not as easy to treat as some may think. For some people it is but for others, like me, not so much. It is very hard to lose weight with this disease I think until you are on the right dose of medication.
  • Ughhh me too!!!
  • My experience with low carb I lost 25 lbs easy in 2 months. Kept my carbs low for a long time and during the summer, my lifestyle changed and I started eating normally for a while. Gained 25 lbs back very fast. Then was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism which the specialist said is linked to low carbing. I have tried every…
  • I was doing it everyday but I am switching to once a week. I am one of the ones who obsesses about the number and it will make me depressed and ruin my whole day. However, once I get to my goal weight and go to maintenance (if that ever happens) then I will weigh everyday to make sure I always stay on track. Thats what…
  • I am the exact same way.. I drink on the weekend and bam, weights back.. I decided today that thats it until I get my weight off. I think it depends on the person. Some people can drink and still lose others cant. Im one of the ones that can't. I was up 2 lbs this morning from having 6 beers( light) ughhhh
  • Becareful with low carbing.. I did it for quite a while, lost weight very easy. 25lbs in 2 1/2 months BUT low carb diets are linked to Hypothyroidism and thats what happened to me. Now I gained all the weight back and its a big struggle to lose. I think as long as your careful and dont go too low for too long you will keep…
  • Thanks for the info everyone
  • Hey there I started WW 2 weeks ago.. I lost 3lbs so far and I find it a good program but way slower then cutting carbs. I would never cut carbs again though because when I did I messed up my metabolism and thyroid and gained every lb back plus more. I think WW takes patience cuz you don't lose it as fast.
  • Kristina Im confused too, does this mean that if you earn exercise calories you have to eat more to make up for them?
  • Have you had bloodwork done? You maybe hypothyroid. I am the same, cant get past a certain weight and it was because I was hypo I've been on meds for months now and I am now trying again. I agree with everyone though.. Tracking what you eat is important in weight loss. I do WW and MFP.
