  • Will have a look, thanks
  • Yup!
  • Thanks all, I obviously understand that there maybe room for over expressing dangers in certain additives. If something that was so dangerous why would it be still in use? Just curious to know what others thought. Your feed back is appreciated. Btw I do not generally consume much in the way of diet sodas, just as…
  • My other half and I were same situation we work together on some things and individually on others, please feel free to add either of us, if you would like some male support encouragement hints for exercise etc - John is jferg69 (search for uk) Good luck on your journey :)
  • Being able to wear out a pair of shoes!!! The reason I mention this is because I couldn't walk very far without the use of inhalers or be in some sort of pain, never mind wear out the tread on shoes. Now I can walk for miles/hours, and I wore through my first pair of walking shoes in December, a first in all my 47yrs :)
  • Inverness here, please feel free to add me
  • 5'4" here too (and 47yrs young), living in the scotlands highland capital. Been around for sometime, bit of a hiccup in December now trying to get back on track!!! Still got work to do, started at 229lbs in Aug 2011 now at 149, would like to reach 129 and then maintain. Please feel free to add me
  • That too was my target, have reached 4/5ths of that since I started on 1 Aug 2011. It can be done, little steps to start! I got lots of support here on mfp when I joined in the Sept. My other half has worked alongside and this has helped tremendously. I will send a friend request and will try and give as much support and…

  • Hello, My daily intake is 1200 but varies 100 either way and is dependent on amount of activity. Starting weight was 229lbs, target weight is around 129. My job is sedentary so try to do as much exercise as I can. The key is to maintain your healthy food choices and regular exercise.
  • My fave - Frankie Goes to Hollywood's - power of love
  • I have bought some and intend to use it for a type of risotto dish, hope it turns out ok  Price wise it is more expensive than rice or fine oatmeal (in Scotland)
  • Another here too in North of Scotland, add me too :)
  • Hi Joined mfp over a year ago :))) will continue to use it too. I live in Scotland and if you wish to add me please send a request. Will help with food ideas/ recipes, some alternative exercise tips, and give encouragement. Best thing I can advise is to take it one step at a time, and enjoy, this is life changing…
  • You should try and count everything you eat and drink, however it does depend which nutrients you are tracking for your goals
  • Hiya Inverness here, not many of us in the north on mfp but used it for just over a year, its great to meet like minded people with similar goals. Here for the long haul of a life change, plz feel free to add me too. Good luck :flowerforyou:
  • I feel very similar, fluctuating between 151-154lbs - driving me insane on occasion, but I have stuck with it.. A lot of the info here makes sense, but you must keep going, I know I will :)
  • YES. It's working for me, sometimes I am over 1200 cals sometimes under, but I am 5'4" and know my body. Everyone is different, I wouldn't expect someone who is very tall or male to maintain 1200 cals
  • I have been kicking around for nearly year here, getting there at my own pace. Love cooking and now do it healthier. You're moving to a lovely part of the country, hope all goes well. My diary is open too as others are, my other half and I feel MFP has been a godsend. Please feel free to add me if you want
  • Sounds like a great plan coming together, I wouldn't mind having a go. Count me in too plzzz
  • Hi, I tend to avoid buying food on the hop and find the use of a small cool bag/box to keep food fresh. Fruit and water plentyful also. Other options are crackers and kraft light cheeses which I take to work most days. Have a look at the recipes here on mfp and food forums, there is loads of info available. I'm sure you…

Age doesnt really matter, the time must be right for you and you will need bucket loads of sheer determination and willpower. Wish you lots of everything that one can, please feel free to add me…
  • Hi Lisa, I was in a similar position to yourself. My lifestyle has been turned around, I am not going to lie its not easy at times, but it is worth it in the long term. There have been major changes in my life, I was on asthma medication for 20+ years and now inhaler free for 6 months, still have a bit of back pain but not…
  • My diary is open, this week I am having an easy week as on annual leave. I still have a further 14-20lbs to lose and looking at alternatives too for continuing weight loss in exercise and food. Please feel free to add me if you think it may help. Good luck, and believe in yourself x

  • Add me too, I'm here for the long haul, started on 229lbs need shed around 100. Reached a plateau around 2 months ago but started losing again the last few weeks. MFP has definitely helped me achieve a new lifestyle, I don't look at this as a diet, its permanent and for life, its maintaining it that's most difficult.…
