My hair stylist always forgets how much hair I have! She mixes up the "normal" amount of hair color, then she always has to mix up more to finish it off.

Journey. I usually get a lot of grief for not liking them.

I've never posted pictures before. I hope this works. The left is my before, but it was taken after I lost 10 lbs. I probably weighed around 192. On the left is my current picture, around 170 lb.

I recently bought some grassfed beef, and thought immediately "this is what hamburgers used to taste like growing up!" Big difference. Also, when you think about how many things have high fructose corn syrup in them now that didn't when we were kids! It's everywhere!

I have been 100% grainfree since July, but occassionally (once or twice a week) I'll have a sweet treat. I have energy and a mental clarity that amazes me. I've lost 35 lbs. The most surprising change came with my routine blood test results last week. After being very anemic for a long time, my iron levels are in the…

Mark Sisson recommends that carbs stay between 50 - 100 g for weightloss, 100 - 150 in maintenance mode.

I don't eat out as often as I used to. I usually take leftovers from dinner for lunch. But if I do go out to a restaurant, a salad is usually a good choice. Burger or grilled chicken without the bun works in a pinch. I like steak restaurants, there's usually a lot more options there. Pizza, Chinese, or Mexican restaurants…

There are several blogs out there that talk about being Primal as a family. Paleo vs. NonPaleo is a good one. Mark Sisson, the author of Primal Blueprint, suggests trying to eat Primal 80% of the time. If your child is still hungry after a Primal breakfast, and you think pouridge will fill him up, then suppliment with a…

Before going Primal, hunger would affect my entire body. I'd get weak or irritable, get headaches or feel foggy, and don't get me started on the hunger pains in my belly! But now that I'm Primal, I'm ONLY hungry in my stomach. And it's just an empty feeling, not necessarily an uncomfortable feeling. I've tried to explain…

Bulletproof coffee! There are several threads already on the topic here. I add just a tiny bit of coconut oil to my coffee, mix it in the blender and enjoy a smooth, creamy, frothy coffee every morning. The coconut oil helps keep me satiated and give energy. Some people use grass fed butter. Not sure if you're paleo or…

Got my box of food yesterday. The grass fed burgers were AMAZING! Had some mangos for breakfast, they were good, too. Can't wait to try the chicken!

Are your friends' bodies perfect? Probably not, yet you love and accept them, don't you? Try to be your own best friend instead of your own worst critic. When you look at your body, if you wouldn't say it to a friend, don't say it to yourself!

The $16 flat rate shipping was disclosed under "fine print." I've shared the link and added that information so that others will know up front. STILL a good deal for $120 worth of food.

I bought it. Hope this was your special link. If 3 friends use your special link after you buy the deal, you get yours free.

I sympathize with you. I'm sorry you're being disrespected, especially since it sounds like you're taking great measures to not disrespect others' views on healthy eating. The responses you've received here are very thought provoking and insightful. I'm glad you shared this.

I did not know this! Interesting!

Sugar creeped back into my diet over the holidays. Not as extreme as before I went Primal in July, but it seems to be steadily increasing. I will get rid of sugar in 2012. I will also participate in at least 3 5K's, even if I have to run/walk them. I will continue to work towards being able to run a mile continuously. I…

My grandma always called me Gina Bean. I took the "i" out of Gina. Hard "G" is implied.

What I've read about protein is that if you eat too much, the excess is elminated by the body as waste. Carbs, on the other hand, if you eat too much, your body will store it as fat. Guess which one I'd rather eat more of?

I am Primal. My usual breakfast is Greek Yogurt with berries and bulletproof coffee (coffee with coconut oil mixed in blender). Usually after a couple of hours, I'll have a handful of almonds.

Google "Whole 30 Timeline." The Whole 30 website is for people dedicated to going strict Paleo for 30 days, but this timeline will tell you how you can expect to feel each day after making the grainfree, sugarfree lifestyle change. It kind of gave me hope that I would indeed feel better soon, and I did!!

I've not only noticed that I'm not hungry as often, but when I am hungry, I only feel it in my stomach. I used to feel "hunger" with my whole body.

Cheat days can actually be beneficial if they don't turn into cheat weeks, then cheat months and so on. Cheat days can remind us how crappy we feel when we eat crap. Cheat days, when planned in advance, can give us something to look forward to. I can pass up low quality junk food all week if I know I'm planning to get a…

If you Google Whole 30 timeline, they have a great timeline of what to expect, both physically and emotionally, while your body adjusts. I love the timeline because it helped me knowing how long things were going to last.

I'm not sure if you're going for Primal or Paleo. According to Mark Sisson (Primal), if you're exercising a lot, you may need more carbs. check out marksdailyapple.com as a resource.

Or overweight people eating SAD telling you that we NEED grains. For?

A good plan is better than good intentions anyday!

I am Primal, so I eat quinoa because it's not a grain. But I Googled the question "is quinoa paleo?" and found some very interesting information that I need to consider. There's actually great debate, some people believing it is paleo, others who don't. But that's the great thing about this lifestyle. The guidelines are…

Not to cut hairs, but quinoa is in the same family as spinach. I understand if someone doesn't tolerate it well, to avoid it, but it's not a grain.
