Yup, what everyone else said. I have the FT4, I turned off the alarms, didn't pay attention to the zones, and just kept working out. My numbers were always way over the zones. It is what it is, I didn't pay any attention.

I decided to go vegetarian on January 1st, mainly because of ethical reasons. There are plenty of great ways to get healthy protein sources through plant sources. Just do your research. But you don't need to clease your body. The body is an amazing machine. Going vegetarian in a personal choice and no one shold tell you…

You ar amazing, an inspiration! You bring tears to my eyes! Congratulations!

Do whatever feels best for you and what will make you stick with it and make it fun and challenging. I started running a little over a year ago. I slowly increased my distance as I felt comfortable doing it. The better I felt doing more, the more I did. So when I felt I could run 5K without killing myself, I did a little…

I started running in August. I used to be a couch potato before that. I recently hit my goal weight. I am running my first 10k (Actually my first event ever) on March 29th. I'm following a plan set by runnersworld.com. So far so good. 4 weeks to go!!!

I'm actually going to Vermont in a couple of weeks and will go straight to the factory in Waterbury to get some straight off the factory floor!! Damn that looks good! Can't wait!

It happens to me on the elliptical and bike as well, stationary bike and when I'm cycling long distances outside. I always thought it had to do with where I was exerting pressure on my feet, but I have not idea. As soon as I stop, though it goes away. It never becomes painful, I just lose feeling in the area if I keep it…

I've been on Lo LoEstrin FE for 3+ years now. It's the lowest form of BC you can get now. I've been on some sort of BC since I was 17 because of PCOS. I've had no troubel withweight loss as a result, interestingly enough, which is a side effect of PCOS. I think I have a somewhat mild form, or a form of PCOS that doesn't…

I had the same question several weeks back and asked my MFP friends, the best answer I got was to do intervals. It breaks up he run and before you know it 30 - 45 minutes are up in no time. You're concentration on what to do next. It works so well! So when I run on the treadmill I only do intervals.

Joining your TMI train, this has been a life long problem for me and I hadn't paid too much attention to it until now, since it;s been life long. I used to poop every 3 to 4 to 6 days. Yup! Slow bowels. I drink black coffee, didn't help. Changed my diet to much healthier by joining MFP, lost 30 lbs, didn't help, started…

A less expensive, not too fancy, basic model, but very good is the Polar FT4 that a lot of people here have reccomended and have. I got one because of that and love it. It was about $65 on Amazon. The other, next odel up that is highly reccomended is the Polar FT 7.

I'm totally with you there. I run about the same as you and am struggling with the las 5 - 9 lbs. I recently joined the Y and met with a personal trainer who also used MFP to lose 60 lbs. She suggested weight training as well. But you can do that w/o joining a gym. There are several book/DVD that talk about body weight for…

Absolutely not. I started running at the beginning of August. I was running about a 13 - 14 minute mile then and I hated running. I kept with it and it clicked this time. My best 5K now is at a 10:30 minute/mile. Stick with it and in time it will get better. Do intervals and slowly increase distance. I'm working on…

I'm pretty much the same way. I prefer to cook fresh veggies, I use some frozen ones in Winter. I tend not to buy boxed meals as they are way high in sodium and preservatives. If it has a really long list of ingredients and I can't pronounce them, I most likely won't buy it. If it has MSG, I won't buy it. MSG gives me…

Oh thank God, another person like me! I have always had a faster than average heart rate and felt like a mutant. Whenever we were supposed to take our heart rate in gym class mine was always the fastest, even when I was in the best shape of my life in high school. Even now, since I have been running for 5 months, on a…

Hey there, I started (again inMay) and lost about 40 lbs. I'm 4 - 5 lbs away from my goal. I'm 5'4" and started at 178. My goal weight is 135. Feel free to add me. I'm on daily. I've been slacking on the diary a bit the past few weeks because of the holiday, but come Thursday it's back on full force diary and exercise…

I am so sorry! This is the hardest thing any person ever has to do. Your strength and courage through all of this has been amazing. You and your family are in my thoughts. I wish you all peace and gentleness as your father transitions and most of all I wish him a peaceful journey. Hugs to you!
