  • Almost 30 down, about 50 to go! Feel free to add me :-)
  • I have a fitbit flex. I love it and almost always forget I even have it on! The website is helpful, but I rely heavily on MFP for community, logging, etc. I'm not sure if I would like the Flex as much if it weren't for MFP honestly. I have a friend who has the UP and she's really satisfied with it. My husband is holding…
  • I just bought these 100 calorie nut snack bags from Emeralds. Got 'em at Target. It's kinda nice to have them portioned out already so I can just grab one and go or leave them in my car/purse.
  • Funny, but also kind of depressing.
  • One more vote for Jenny-O! You can get them in large packs at the regular grocery store. They're a bit thin and about 200 cals per patty...load 'em up with veggies!!!
  • You've got this! We're here for motivation and support! You are welcome to send me a friend request :-)
  • During the week, I workout after work immediately. (So, before dinner.) If I were to go home and eat first, I'd get to relaxing and watching TV...and sigh, no workout. On weekends, I get a workout in before breakfast so I can leave the rest of the day for whatever the weekend has in store!
  • Awesome job you two!! My husband just joined MFP and I'm hoping we can be in the same boat as you are soon!! :-)
  • Ran 13 minutes without stopping to walk.
  • Just an update: I've now been using GymPact for 4 weeks. My goals are 5 days at the gym (or my Jazzercise studio) and $10 for every day missed. (4 days at $5 was not enough of an incentive for me.) I have NOT missed a workout/week. I've made $11 total. Which, is a trip to the movie theater. Which is a wonderful TREAT for…
  • I've only been using weights since about March and am up to 6 pounds from 4 pounds. While I realize that that sounds suuuuuuper light, GetSoda is correct in saying I'm doing a lot of isolation work. It's because it's part of a cardio routine. The routine often consists of squats, lunges, floor work, etc while using the…
  • 1) Poverty 2) The US would adopt a European vacation/holiday schedule 3) I'd live at the beach ....4) No more fat knees.
  • This actually made me laugh out loud. I agree. Completely.
  • I just joined this Dietbet!! It will be my fourth and will help me reach one of my mini-goals!! I've lost a total of 27 pounds with the assistance of Dietbet and won about $75 to date. I don't find the news feed page AS motivating as MFP, but every little bit helps!! Feel free to add me and we can cheer each other on!
  • Right now I've eliminated the sweetener and just use almond milk or half and half. I guess I ask b/c I'm hoping I'm not sabotaging my diet by including the white stuff. Honestly, I could drink it black but my boss buys really cheap, crappy coffee for the office.
  • I did a search for fat knees just to see if other folks had my same issue! Yep! :-) My fat knees have prevented me from wearing shorts for...oh...almost two decades. (And I'm only 31!) I have a looooooong way to go in my weight loss and I'm hopeful that that will help with my knee problem (and my shorts problem!) I have…

  • I really love Zombies, RUN. It's way more interesting that C25K and I think it starts off waaaaay more do-able. I'm in week 3, but I tend to take longer breaks in between the runs than I should. (It's New Orleans, it's hot!) I'm also not too fond of doing any kind of run training program on a treadmill (it's annoying to…
  • There are some "flavored" versions, but they have a lot of added crap. I find that it goes down A LOT easier if you keep it ice-ice cold. If you really want the benefits and not the taste, you could use it in a smoothie...just use it instead of some of the water.
  • I have no idea to add you as a friend, but I'm on fitbit as well! If you know how, feel free to add me :-)
  • The incentive is to not lose money!! You get paid about .30-.40 per work out. Are you getting paid to work out now?
  • Good, I'm glad everybody seems to think along the same lines. I just couldn't wrap my head around this article. The writer seems to be educated and it's easy to mislead newbies in this land-o-life-changes. I've always been taught cardio for weight loss (because you can't "spot-shrink") and weight training for toning,…
  • Thanks for starting this thread. I too have been wanting to get some, but I'm nervous b/c they aren't cheap and I'd hate to hate them. Saying that, I'm mostly a bare-footer anyway, I hate socks, and only wear flip-flops and ballet flats. Something about putting a gigantic shoe on to work out in totally feels wrong to me.…
  • Recently, it seems, that more and more running clubs are popping up everywhere. These running clubs often meet at bars, run to bars, have case of beers after the runs...have cases of beers before the runs...etc! I got to thinking about this and actually found some articles about how social runners (who also drink socially)…
  • Such an interesting piece of advice...I love it. I think we're so predispositioned to "feeling good", "feeling full" and "feeling fulfilled". We're all about instant gratification and if something doesn't come easily, it's either our faults and we need to work "harder" or it isn't even worth it because it's too out of…
  • Ok...could you explain?? What do you mean by it being a "silly phrase"?
  • Whoa. It says my TDEE is like 2700 calories a day. That's waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more than I eat ever! Without heavily increasing my meat or carb consumption, I'm not sure if I could get that high. (Unless I drink a 6 pack or something!!) Question is the TDEE before or after exercise?
