I have one of those as well. (I think everyone has at least one!) Mine's a co-worker, though, so unfortunately, I have to "play nice," and hopefully one of us (hopefully me!) will move on to greener pastures. She is CONSTANTLY bringing food and then she'll say something like, "I'd offer you some, but you're on a diet,"…

Hey all, I'm bumping this because I'm curious, too. Has anyone tried these??? Jane

I need a kick in the pants to get me on the right track! I'm in!

Feel free to add me! That's Marmalade and John in my picture ... they take after their mom, and are also trying to lose weight.

It makes me INCREDIBLY sick too, and finally a nurse told me to take it AFTER a meal. To me, WITH a meal (which is what the label and everyone prior had said) means I can take it before or during. After is entirely different. It hasn't been nearly as been since then. Good luck!

My co-worker had a Kiku apple and said it was the best apple she had ever eaten ever. I think it must have a really short ripe time (like the Mackinaw peaches on "Seinfeld"), because I went to the same store where she bought it a few weeks later, and they were gone. I have yet to try to best apple ever!

Yay! It's great to incorporate your pets in your fitness activities! For all of you who said you have fat cats, me too! (Just look at my picture!) One weighs 18.5 pounds, but he's a Maine Coon (left) or Siberian (not sure) so he has a bigger body anyway, the other is an orange tabby (right), and he weighs 22.5 pounds, just…

Wow! You are a rock star, so inspirational!!! I have about as much weight to lose as you do, and it's great to see it can be done, especially when I've been struggling to get to 20 pounds lost since October now! Grrrr ... but only my own fault. A question I had though: how tall are you? I am 5'3" and hoping to get to 130,…

You are incredible, sir! Unbelievable transformation!

I agree. If Joe's is what your kids love, then go to Joe's and just do the best you can. Let them have their special celebration! And your kids rock ... that is great news! Jane

I go to a boot camp style class 2-3 times per week, and the trainer has us do different things every day to work different muscles. It's nice because someone plans the routine for you, and is there to guide/push you, and you're doing it with other people. So maybe look for something like that! Or, if you're not into the…

Just wanted to chime in as an "obviously overweight" person (it's OK, I know I'm fat) ... trust me, it doesn't make the co-workers any less awkward. They DO notice when your eating habits change and when you're too sore from boot camp to move, and ESPECIALLY when you mess up ... or they perceive you to be messing up. It's…

If you're just looking for a vegetarian pot pie, I have a co-worker who recently went veggie, and she's been enjoying the Amy's Kitchen pot pies: http://www.amys.com/products/product-detail/pot-pies/000020

Thank God the state of Texas doesn't include that information!

Thank you so much for the great advice! I've got a long way to go, and it's nice to know I'm doing a lot of things right already :-)

I posted this in another thread, but I recently took up knitting again. Sounds lame, but it's been helping me while I'm getting back on track because it uses both hands, so I can't eat while I'm doing it (unless I'm doing a Garfield-lasagna type move, LOL ... not gonna happen!), there's counting involved, which is…

This is literally the stupidest thing I have ever seen ever. Especially for $28.97. Geez.

I work at night, so most of my meals are eaten when I get to work. I generally try to ignore what everyone else is eating, and bring my own food so I won't be tempted when other people bring things in to share. Make sure you have enough snacks, like veggies, nuts, fruit ... just something small ... so when you're hungry or…

I'm 29, and looking to lose around 200 pounds. Add me if you like! Welcome to MFP!

I'll preface by saying I don't have kids, so I may not have the best ideas, but what about a reward for your trainer after you reach a mini-goal (weight loss or inches)? Maybe a trip to the arcade or a movie or a toy (trying to think of something that doesn't involve food)? Also, I have an MFP who's been bowling a lot to…

Hi all! First post in the forum ... I'm just a beginning, perhaps intermediate knitter. I love http://mochimochiland.com/ This lady is awesome! And her books are great! Jane

The rudest thing wasn't even to my face ... a "friend" said it behind my back, and another "friend" told me about it. Honestly, I wish I'd never heard it. I was taking a self-defense class in college, you know, the kind where you learn to fight off attackers? One of my supposed guy friends said to one of my other supposed…
