  • I guess if you base your self worth on what someone says about someone who looks nothing like you, then I guess you would care, but frankly, you probably have way worse things to be worrying about.
  • WHO CARES? Kim K is not anyone of us here, and unless someone at the grocery store looks at your picture on the front of a magazine and says to you that you look fat in that picture, let it go! In the grand scheme of things, it doesn't matter at all, and its certainly nothing to get mad about!
  • My kids eat 3 meals and have a snack after school while doing their homework. I give them several options for snacks: apple, string cheese, greek yogurt, organic kids Z bars (Clif), or fresh veggies. If they don't want one of those things, they wait for dinner (they never refuse a snack!).
  • Your job is not ruining your weightloss...only you are responsible for that. You would be better served to take responsibility for your choices than to blame them on others. You can still drink water at work, but maybe drink less there and buy a filter for your tap at home. You can say no to people and let them have hurt…
  • I use HRM on my elliptical at home and my HRM gives me a burn of about 1/3 the calories my elliptical and MFP estimate (Elliptical says I burned 300, HRM says 100, etc). 100 sounds VERY high for only 5 minutes, especially if you were resting before since it takes a little bit to get your heart rate up.
  • bump...interested in this also, but unfortunately have nothing to offer!
  • Its cheapest at Costco, if you have a membership. You can also find it at Target and Wal Mart.
  • Nice language...and you asked 2 questions...would I gain weight and would it be healthy, and if you actually read the answers, you get your answers....Yes, you would gain weight, unless you burn more than 3500 cals, and no its not healthy to eat only fruit.
  • The calorie burn sounds about right to me....I am 5'4", 149 lbs. I run at least 3 days a week and am currently training for a 10 mile race in April...so my fitness level is good, but not great. I have done Ripped in 30 and my calorie burn was about the same as yours with my HRM. Good luck to you!
  • Good job! I finished in December, and I'm currently training for a 1/2 marathon...I'm not fast, but I love it!
  • I like your style...honest, but not unkind. I hope that someone reading these 11 pages gained something from your wisdom, I know I did, and I never thought the original post was a reflection of a healthy self love or productive in any kind of way.
  • You aren't doing yourself or anyone else any good by making generalizations and then expecting everyone to just nod and agree. Your original post was offensive to "skinny" people, and you need to just own that you feel that way instead of defending what you said. You have a right to feel how you feel, but so do I. I've…
  • I finished C25K in December. I did most of my running outside, but on days I had to use the dreadmill, I walked at 3.5 and ran at 5.5 or so. I didn't do recovery drinks, etc., until I was almost at the end.
  • Yep. And your metabolism only slows up to 10%, which in the grand scheme of things, isn't much. If you feel good eating 1200, then eat 1200, but if you feel tired, light headed, lethargic, or hungry, eat a little bit more.
  • You look great! There is definitely a difference in your stomach and hip area. Your husband is right!
  • I don't always eat my exercise calories, and I'm doing just fine. I eat them if I feel hungry or sluggish, but other than that I don't....plus, you never know if your calorie burns are accurate, even if you use a heart rate monitor, so just watch your weight losses and increase/decrease calorie intake based on that.
  • I just peeked at your food diary and it looks like you are eating lots of pasta, which doesn't keep you full for long, so you may want to reduce the pasta and increase your protein and fiber intake (including veggies).
  • I'm so glad I got one...mine is a Garmin Forerunner 405CX, which has GPS to help me pace/track my runs, and also uses the Heart rate to calculate calorie burns....and it has totally been worth it. Example: I used my elliptical today for 30 minutes, elliptical said I burned 470 cals, HRM said 170. If I ate back an extra 300…
  • I stop eating when I don't have any calories left...or when I fall asleep, whichever comes first.
  • I know you can't eat it...but chapstick. Its all over my house, in my desk at work, in my purse, in my car.....its everywhere...and I love it. Oh...what food? Um, eggs.
  • Any diet that tells you to eat one thing exclusively for an entire day (fruit only...veggies only) is not nutritionally sound. Where will you get your protein and fats? Losing 10-17 pounds that fast is very unhealthy, and probably will be regained quickly when normal eating resumes.
  • Lots of personal trainers don't like running, but if you run with proper form and the right shoes, you have no more chance of hurting your joints that for any other sport....that being said, you should definitely switch the optional run day to a cross or even stretching day until you figure out what is going on. You don't…
  • I have never tried spaghetti squash, but thanks to those amazing pictures, I bought some today and plan to eat it this weekend. Thanks again!
  • This. If you don't push yourself to run farther, shorter distances/times are not going to get easier. Add time or mileage to your already established run days SLOWLY, which will increase your endurance, thus making it "easier" to run shorter distances.
  • It sounds like they might be too small. I always buy my running shoes a 1/2 size larger than my casual shoes because my feet swell when I run. It cold also be that they are too narrow or that they are laced too tight.
  • And the things you ar describing in your post aren't healthy choices either....and "low fat" is part of the reason the obesity epidemic is what it is. Its better to educate than dictate.
  • I agree. If you wouldn't say it to someone who was standing in front of you, then don't post it. Its easy to hide behind a computer and feel superior, but its really easy to hide behind a computer and be nice!
  • I use the GPS all the time and I have never had it cut out...that might change if I start doing trail runs, but from the reviews I read before I bought it, most people said it worked well for those, too. There are no Maps on the GPS, so its not super useful if you get lost..it will give you the general direction you came…
  • The footpod is for tracking distance on the treadmill since obviously the GPS won't work. I didn't bother to buy it because its around $60 (from what I remember) and I only run on the treadmill when I absolutely have to, and it tracks the distance for me (although probably not perfectly accurate, but close enough).
