My rule of thumb is its always better to under guess your calories burns than over guess them. I'd probably log it as walking but maybe add 10-20% more calories burned in your journal.

As long as you're getting your sugars from natural sources you're fine! Apple vs candy bar, the apple has the fiber to move the sugar through you where the candy bar is just like eating spoon fills of sugar. That's how I've understood it anyways.
