As a mom of 3 who also lacks control around Reeses Peanut Butter Cups in particular, I get your plight. I loathe Halloween because I am not fond of playing dress up and this holiday represents the start of a downhill period (ending with New Year's Eve) for me when it comes to exercising self control. That said, my issues…

Very sorry for what you are going through. Agree with Graelwyn that working out can help you will feel stronger and better prepared to deal with the challenges ahead. Saying a little prayer for you and your family now!

I use it all the time in place of the eggs, water and oil. Works beautifully!

So charmcnab - I did the first workouts of both videos + one day I took a run because my husband was too into the golf match on Sunday to get away from the one TV we have that is connected to a DVD. The workouts were so similar that I am not sure I could alternate these throughout the week and (a) not get bored and (b)…

I used to stock up on Lean Cuisines and deli turkey until I realized just how much sodium and simple carbs these had. I don't touch them anymore and have found I can eat just a quickly and inexpensively if I prepare on Sundays for the whole week. I typically grill some extra chicken over the weekend and then use it as…

To break boredom, I up the size of the weights I am using every 2 or 3 days to increase the challenge/intensity. My reason for the switch up is not as much about boredom as it is what I have read in the past about rest when strength training to give the muscles a chance to rebuild and recover. I worry about doing the…

That is EXACTLY what I started as of yesterday. I have used 30DS in the past and was scared I would get bored starting all over again and so I did the Ripped in 30 Week 1 yesterday and plan to do the first work out in 30DS today. I am going to alternate all week long and then move into Level 2 for both next week and so on.…

I tried thinning it out with broccoli but it only cut down on the calories a little bit. I think I might use as a side dish....maybe the next time we have company so I can get rid of it faster :)

I typically do the same. I am just not sure what to add that would reduce calories and fat. I thought about adding more noodles or a vegetable and increasing the number of servings which would reduce the calories and fat per serving...but not by much. I am feeling like this one is a lost cause and/or it's one of those…

When I started this program I did each session 5x before moving on regardless of what the program suggested. This way I was bored and ready to move on and push to the next session. Not sure if that helps or not but it got me to week 10 without shin splints or knee issues :)

I like that better, too. I might just borrow that one from now on as that makes me feel more productive vs. guilt-ridden :)

I cycle my calories to create confusion so that I am eating an average of 1300 calories a day but never 1300 calories every day as I that has caused a lot of stalls in the past. As part of this, I have at least one day a week that I consider my "free" or "cheat" day. It helps me feel less deprived and seems to help cure…

I read something the other day that said it can be self-defeating to label a day as "bad" because of what you eat. Eating healthy is a lifelong journey and so you can't paint yourself into a green (good) or red (bad) zone every day based on what you did or didn't eat. That said, whenever I have a day where I eat "off…

I have also used the C25K program. I love it but instead of doing each session 3 times in a week, I am to do each session 5 times over two weeks so I can really get conditioned (and sometimes bored) with the session before I move on. Even though Week 5 is broken down into 3 sessions within 1 week, I took a week with each.…
