It's taken me along time to realise that this is my journey and I am largely on it on my own. My husband and daughter also insist on having all the things in the house that I an trying to limit but I just have to be motivatated enough to avoid them. If I do eat them, I log them and move on. Maybe your partner can't cook.…

Interesting question. I didn't think I did until today when asked by my sister who is following slimming world what my cal limit was. I have a shed load to lose so allowing for a 1Ib lose each week my allowance, worked out by MFP, seems kind of high to anyone who hasn't done a calorie controlled plan before. Story of my…

I am sorry this has happened to you and I am equally sad that it has hurt you so much. Please don't let this experience colour your opinion of young people. I didn't want children either when I was younger but I am now the mother of a beautiful sixteen year old daughter who would never of dreamt of saying this to you or…

I can really identify with how life's ups and downs can put the spanner into being able to lose weight. Try and keep at it, and don't beat yourself up if life causes you to go off the the rails know and again. Hugs.

Hi Tammy, I have sent you a friend request. I am looking for mutually supportive friends who understand how difficult it is to keep motivated when trying to lose a lot of weight. I am an emotional eater and will turn to carbs when things get difficult.

Sent you a friend request as it sounds like we have similar goals

Don't you sometimes hate the English language. Being Depressed can mean many things from feeling a bit down, to having a psychological illness which impacts on you life and requires professional intervention, to being so unwell that you are suicidal. Likewise someone who describes themselves as a binge eater could be…

Mandy hun, I think you may be being a little too tough on yourself. I had a quick glimpse at your profile and like me you have a bit of a way to go. If you are trying to stick to 1200-1400 calories now what are you going to cut it down to when you are smaller? Also you appear to be struggling at the mo........I have every…

Morbidly obese is what I am, not who I am. It's taken me all of my adult life to realize this. As a 10 year old my family told me I was fat and worthless, and I believed this. Thanks to the confidence shown in me by a fantastic boss who saw the potential in me, I am a happy 38 year old who is about to qualify as a nurse.…

I do think that families should all eat the same meal but it can be difficult ( I know family members have problems with their kids) But here is a couple of practical words of advice to try and turn things round. 1) Don't beat yourself up. If you have all eaten in a particular way then its natural to encounter some…

I am a product of my upbringing. I was fed good wholesome old fashioned food.....and was expected to clear my plate. We didn't eat 'junk' food but some of the things we did eat where high fat. We ate lots of fruit and veg but as a large family it was sometimes first come first served so we used to dig into mum's fantastic…
