What's your favourite toppings for porridge? Looking for new ideas.

    I'm looking for new ideas too!
    My standards are:
    chopped green apple, cinnamon & nutmeg
    pecans, maple syrup & cinnamon
    almonds, currents & cinnamon

    ...yes - I do put cinnamon on almost everything.
  • a little brown sugar and fruit...either defrosted raspberries or banana.

    cook in some fresh blueberries.. top with some healthy granola- stir to soften it, or leave it at the top for crunch! seasonally i like to find trader joe's pumpkin butter and add a spoonful of that. sugar-free maple breakfast syrup if you're watching calories!

    When i cook oatmeal I mix in ground flax seed and a little vanilla protein powder. After it's cooked I add cinnamon and then top it with some berries, 1/2 container carbmaster yogurt and some cool whip. HungryGirl has a recipe called an oatmeal parfait that is similar. The extra protein slows the digestion of the carbs to help prevent a blood sugar spike.
