I am a doctoral student, teaching fellow, was an adjunct last year, and an asst. track coach (pole vault). My program is sport and exercise psychology (in the exercise science department, not psychology department). My research specialty is parental influence on pa behaviors of children. Being in the exercise field, I find…

It's good to see an older (sorry) man interested in flexibility. Gaining flexibility now will help quality of life down the road. Walking will be easier bc if hip mobility and flexibility, you will be able to continue to put on your own socks and shoes things like that that we take for granted. I know this is a crap ton to…

You need to think about marketing. Someone mentioned the time you post the thread. Another thing to think about is a catchy thread title. Make people want to read it and then you'll get people responding Edited to add: I don't think there was a question in here, just a frustrated complaint about a lack of response and thus…

I've spoken to nutritionists and doctors about this. If you eat healthy, you may not even need a multi, but many people need fish oils still. I will take my multi pack every other day or so but take my fish oils daily

I'm an adjunct and doctoral student. Some suggestions: park you car further from the door Walk everywhere on campus I take breaks from my office by running errands Instead of calling someone our emailing, I head to their office I also am not ashamed to admit this, but I'll grade papers while on the bike, elliptical, or…

Thanks...will try this later

To breakfast I would add greek yogurt and maybe granola Add in some nuts or easy snacks like peanut butter and apples Also if you don't mind leftovers, cook chicken for the week or hard boil eggs for the week. A few suggestions. Hope they help. :)

I have tried many different solutions. Right now I'm actually in the waiting room of a salon for a facial. I swore by accutane when I used it...never had the bad side effects. I also am on ocella to help the hormonal break outs. I use clinique acne and their regular line mixed together. Also, I find that when I wear even…

I do know that itching from running is normal for a bit because of blood flow. It seems like your hives could be from that natural reaction bc you haven't ran in a while. To get rid of the itching and hives from running, you need to keep running consistently. Kinda sounds crazy but your body needs to readjust to running. I…

The Night Circus And The Discovery of Witches trilogy Or any Paulo Coelho novel...don't know how they would work because of a lot of introspection...but it would be amazing

My sprint training warm up is half mile or a mile then 15 minutes of dynamic warmups...so skips, high knees, leg swings etc. then dynamic stretches on the ground, then some more skips. The warm up can take as long as the workout sometimes. Sometimes it's a miler and a half jog to the track and a few leg swings. But if I'm…

Dynamic stretches and a dynamic warmup is recommended for before working out. Static stretching is recommended post workout.

I would either do calisthetics vigorous or light depending on what you feel you do or circuit training? Or I know many people don't add strength and exercises like that to their calorie counter...you could just make a note of the fact that you did them. Whatever you would prefer. :)

Brad walker and any other pole vaulter

I did jenny for a while too. The biggest thing to remember whilst transitioning is portions. Continue on a schedule and plan like they have but instead cook for yourself and watch the portions. Go out and get a scale and good measuring cups. I like top use cute ones to keep me wanting to use them. Start taking a multi…

It actually does do a bit...read an article about it...but training with weights 5lbs and over has better benefits...plus there is no post-workout water refresher or cab fare. Then again something is better than nothing.

I wear mascara to the gym...and I can lift as much as the guys :) It's the ladies who cake on the makeup that make me giggle

He is. He should be banned from message boards :)

This is why I never look at BMI...it is just height to weight ratio...which doesn't mean much even in the exercise/fitness/sport/health industry. Female athletes are amazing. ATHLETES are amazing. We should be proud of them and all the work they put into their sport. And how amazing and talented their bodies are. Jessica…

I am not a mom but I gotta say, Yay moms for being active! My masters and doctoral research is in how a child's perception of their parent's modeling and support behavior influences their likelihood of being physically active... If you are a good role model, your child will not only be more active but like to be active!…

Yes :) I am getting up at 5 to watch track and field tomorrow live. Cannot. Wait. :)

I second that... Mostly, mine would be stupid coworkers and egotistical people who have to reason for the ego

I just googled it...it's just a type of calf raise and there are you tube videos...didn't look at then but I'm assuming it's weighted calf raises with the machine...our bent over which was how the pictures looked?
