Does anyone here use one of these things? How many calories do you think it burns?

No. It's a useless piece of crap. You will burn more calories throwing it as hard as you possibly can into the street than actually using it.

Very very little calories, and no strength benefit whatsoever.

haha my husband wanted me to buy one, he thinks it's hilarious after that South Park episode about it.
Anyways, I didn't want it, sorry i can't be helpful.

Just don't do it...total ridiculousness..another one of those gimmicks that are supposed to magically get you results. If you're looking to burn calories while strength training, incorporate 2-3 total body workouts so that you're putting more of your muscle groups to work in one session. Allow for at least 48 hours in between each total body workout., and incorporate cardio 3-4 days a week at least. Forget the shake weight :)

I'm a fan of the tug toner
  • Ah, crap. I figured since using it hurts after awhile, it must do SOMETHING. *sigh* Oh well. I'll find something else. =)

It actually does do a bit...read an article about it...but training with weights 5lbs and over has better benefits...plus there is no post-workout water refresher or cab fare. Then again something is better than nothing.

I'm not sure how effective they are. We have them at zumba and ive used them a few times but, they feel like they are just too light so i bring my own 2/3 lbs ones. Unless they come in 2 or 3 lbs then they may work better.
