Life is good but very busy and the weight keeps creeping up. I feel I need to make the time to eat well, sleep and exercise to be healthy and enjoy my life rather than make excuses for…

  • Hi, I find when I try new food and recipes (healthy ones) I feel like I am treating myself to special food and am less likely to binge. Get yourself out of the boring routine and focus on new foods or other treats (walks, new book, new nail polish, new hobby) you can give yourself rather than what you are taking away. Helen
  • Hi, Maybe try and plan your meals for the weekend including food treats but also other treats e.g. a catch up with friends, see a movie, buy a favourite magazine have a massage, bubble bath, a walk etc. So you focus on making yourself feel special and relaxed after all the hard work of the week but its not only food reward…

  • Hi Lulu NH. I started induction at the start of January so I was eating 20 carbs and this week I have gone up to around 30. I want to increase it slowly because I am worried about cravings. As I am in the early phases I don't eat bread, rice, potatoes. So far I have not had to worry about my calories, they do vary from…
  • Congratulations! January is going to be a great month for you. Helen

  • Hi, I am at 165 pounds (up 1 pound) Total loss of 3 pounds. I am at that time of the month so I think the gain is only water. I am focussed to stay on track and see what happens next week (but it is hard when the scales go up). There are still many weeks until the end of January! All the best to everyone for the week!…

  • Hi, My heart breaks for you. You have had such a hard time of it. So I can understand that you are turning to food as it is your comfort. I binge when I am emotional and I still binge but not as often or as much. It is so hard to change a habit quickly. So try and have some things to do to help you with your emotions…
  • Sorry to hear that your news was not good. When having children is one of your life goals it is so hard to hear it is going to be so very difficult to achieve. At times like this we turn to comfort and food is one of the comforts of life. However by going on MFP you are showing that you want to make different choices. Make…
  • Hi, I know feeling judged is hard, especially when it is family, the ones that are suppose to love and care for you. Make a list of all the great things about you ... school or work achievements, hobbies, charities you help with etc. Put it up somewhere and focus on who you are. When you focus on and accept who you are you…
  • Hi, I had a lovely couple of days away with my sister who is getting married in a few weeks. I did indulge a little too much. So I will not weigh in until next week but I am really focused and I am looking forward to losing next week. Its the balance, enjoying life and meeting health goals but most important being kind to…
  • Hi, I weighed in this morning at 71 kg / 157 pounds. A loss of one pound. I was glad of a loss because I had a challenging work (don't you always when you start something, to test your resolve ... maybe) I am looking forward to this week and making many good choices and only a few bad ones. Have a good week. It was great…
  • Hi, I'm Australia so I work in kilograms. My starting weight is 71.6kg (158 pounds). I want to lose 10 pounds to reach my goal weight. I hope being accountable will help me keep on track. With family and work it is so easy to use excuses to put your goal aside. Good luck everyone!
  • Congratulations on your hard work and dedication!!!! You look fantastic! Al the best for 2013.
  • Sounds like a great way to keep motivated. 24/10 - 153 pounds All the best for the week!:flowerforyou:
  • My only advice is to take it one day at a time. Don't worry about yesterday or tomorrow. Focus on what you need to do (work, family) and then find simple things to do that give you peace or pleasure. Go for a work, read a book, watch a movie, help a friend or neighbour. Keep busy. Also have you tried yoga or meditation.…
