  • Thanks- yeah I"ll increase my normal days a bit. I definitely find I have a better workout with a higher carb lunch/dinner the day before. I need to work out whether to do my fast days on workout days or rest days. I have 1-2 rest days per week, the rest of the week I'm either doing weights/cardio at the gym or running.
  • Yeah I don't think I could survive on just water all day...I get very nauseous and feel awful if I don't eat for a long time, but could probably survive till lunchtime, then have something light, then a 400'ish calorie dinner. Will try it out for a couple of months and see how i go. I did start to look forard to the…
  • Thanks heaps, have friend requested you so I can take a squiz at your diary and get some ideas cheers ! Sarah
  • Sorry people I can't work out how to reply to certain posts LOL (call me blonde), but thanks for all your tips and advice! :) @_SKIM_ I do weights too 3 x a week plus running, I've been doing weights for 20+ years, and LOVE it, and i always work out in the morning too, I have 1-2 rest days per week. I do find though that…
  • Thanks everyone for your advice. Normally I try to stick to around the 1200calorie mark, but I do a lot of high intensity exercise, so sometimes I do eat back some of my exercise calories as I do get hungry. When I was doing the 5:2 diet for those few weeks I was sticking to that, and then going around 500-600 calories on…
  • Thank you ALL for your great ideas !!!!!!!!! I will be doing my fortnightly shop tomorrow, and am going to go and get some new snacking foods thanks to your advice :) CHEERS !!! xxx
  • Hi guys and girls...I watched an interesting documentary on the BBC Knowledge channel last night called The Truth about...Fat and Sugar. There were two doctors who were twins, one went on a high fat diet (with no sugar), and the other went on a high sugar diet( with no fat). All sorts of tests/experiemtns were carried out…
  • Thanks everyone for your posts. I'm not wanting to cut out all sugar or monitor it super closely, after the programme I watched I went onto MFP to see what my "daily goal" was set at, just out of curiosity. I do have fruit in my diet with my daily morning protein shake with frozen berries and banana, so that alone has a…
  • [/quote] Do you use the phone app? Since I'm with my phone all the time, it takes very little time definitely less than ten or even five minutes a day to log. Even when I'm super tired I can do it while laying in bed. You can scan foods in easily, copy them from one day to the next if you really do eat the same things all…
  • hey there :) I will check those links out - thanks! I haven't been doing that for 8 months...I have been previously eating all my exercise calories, so around 1500-1600 cal per day, I went off MFP for 2 months as had been logging every single day for 3-4 years and just thought I'd be OK without logging as I thought I knew…
  • Yeah that does sound exactly like me!! I also looked back on my food diary when I was down at 61-62kg and was eating way more !! chocolate every day !! around 1500-1600 cal !! (eating back exercise cals), I also prefer being around the 62.5-64kg mark but for some reason NOTHING is happening now ??? It's like my body is…
  • yeah..that was 10yrs ago! I was 25yrs old, in a bad relationship so being so controlled with my diet was OK as it gave me some control in my life ...living on protein powder/shakes/tuna/rolled oats/steamed fish/chicken and steamed veges for 8 months....I just can't do that now - can't afford all the protein shakes/bars…
  • What's the point of logging ? Well as I mentioned, I DID lose 7kg originally by doing it this way, getting 3kg below my original goal weight - so it DOES work - I have done a body sculpting competition many years ago and did the hardcore diet then measuring and weighing everything as I had to be on stage at 10% body fat -…
  • Thanks for all that - yes I do log honestly with my "treats" (the biscuit/chocolate in snack field) - but I do take calories from the exercise machines at the gym and just what it says on here. I have been eating back my exercise calories, but am going to stop doing that, and stick to the 1200 calories per day regardless…
  • Thanks for that :) Yes, I do log consistently and very honestly. I did have two months off logging a little while ago, as I had been logging daily for around 3/4 years ?? and thought I could do it on my own (NO!!!) ha h aha Which foods did you mean have high sodium? I haven't got that tab on my food diary - I will see if I…
  • Sounds like me - can I ask what drastic measures you've taken to begin weight loss ?? was it just being extra strict, not eating exercise calories etc ?
  • Yes, I have been eating back my exercise calories but am going to stop that and see if it makes a difference - am also going to cut out my "treat" per day (usually have couple of rows of chocolate or a biscuit or something as I have a sweet tooth, and considering all the exercise I do felt I "deserved" it, but will cut…
  • Sorry new to this blog thing, not sure if I'm doing it right - have just changed settings so hopefully you can see now ?? - I have been doing weights since I was 14 yrs old, do them 2-3 times per week, I did a body sculpting competition back in 2004, my nutritionist back then said I had approx. 6 kg more muscle mass than a…
  • Yeah, I've just started adding baby kale mix to my smoothies, can barely taste it but good iron boost !!! :) I have calcitrim milk, rolled oats, frozen berries, banana, pineapple, cinnamon, nuts and flaxseed oil in mine (have been trying different things for about a year and that's what I"ve ended up with !) :) YUM great…
